They're weak at the top but deep. Only 1 team worthy of a ranking right now, but after that there are 8 teams legitimately battling for the tourney

no offense but the big 12 was supposed to be MUCH better than the pac this year, having two teams that were legitimate contenders. At this point in the year, there is one contender (KU), one fringe contender (Texas), and that's about it. Ok State clearly isn't what their preseason ranking suggested (partially to bad luck because of the injury to their big man). Baylor is, simply, awful. ISU doesn't have the pieces and has shown it in big12 play.

Pac has one contender. Not that big of a difference. And I know you beat Kansas, but don't overreact and say that you have a better chance to win the title than them.

Now there are season ending injuries to two of the top 10 players in the league (Dinwiddie and Ashley), and I am not sure but don't think there is another conference that has has stars and future nba players go down for the season like that

Hey, if you would have told me Texas was going to be 17-4 and would curbstomp KU at the beginning of the year, I would have laughed. I'm a fan of the Pac 12, btw as you can see my 2nd favorite team are the Sun Devils. I follow Pac 12 basketball and I think it's pretty weak right now. fair enough mang. In no way do I think the Pac is very strong, but there is also a LOT of weakness in every conference right now, especially for the mid level teams. there are so many average teams and the big 10, big 12, pac, and ACC are all similar in that sense.

I hear you TE98, and I agree. But like dc said, it may not be top-heavy, but it's relatively solid throughout. Pac has 7 teams in the RPI top 50. That's a little ridiculous. Again, only one in the top 25, but over half of the conference can beat anyone on any given night, especially at home. And that's not true in the rest of the conferences.

OSU has lost to Iowa, @MSU, PSU, @ Minnesota and @ Nebraska. You can make a case that only the home loss vs PSU is really a questionable loss ( hell even that one isnt TERRIBLE as PSU is in the Top 100 RPI ) The reality is there is not one easy night in the B10. The league may not be LOADED at the top but every single team in the league is capable of beating you on any given night. ALL OF THEM. Thats the only league in the country that can say that IMO.

Those are basketball schools though. Nebraska has a good young coach and a new arena, I expect them to at least consistently be a middle of the pack B1G basketball school in the near future. Northwestern and Penn St. are embarrassing losses for anybody though, I agree with that.

100% agreed. I don't think it's a show of strength this year though, it's a show of mediocrity. The conference simply lost too much talent last year. Aside from MSU, UM, and Iowa the B1G is extremely mediocre and every loss is a bad loss imo.

wow, all I can say is how happy I'm with this Texas basketball team. After the last few years, it is such as welcome change. A team that plays great defense, plays hard and actually likes each other. Playing like a team, what a concept. Just hope they can keep it up...

It is what it is man. All those teams are more than capable. Thats why all of them are in the top 30% of CBB this year. Every other league has at least 1 scrub that is a gimme, some have more than 1. The B10 just doesnt have it. That means there are no nights off. Hell the last place team in the B10 was on the verge of the top 10 4 weeks ago. How many other leagues can say their WORST team won @ UNLV and on a neutral court vs Missouri OOC??? Yeah, none.
