im going to struggle with some of the picks from older shows but this sounds like it will be alot of fun. Every year during the summer when the struggle for football is real me and a buddy draft a fictional character football team. Its alot of fun and we get some good chuckles out of it.
a few warm ups for ya...if you get all of these..you'll be fine

I'm in the same boat as SP & Harold... Didn't watch much TV but I think I watched enough to get by in this draft. I'd do it for Sam though so if you need another owner count me in!

Thoughts about having different decades and a couple of flex years.
But I don't want to have to check anyone's picks.
And if someone wants to try to draft all of the Brady Bunch... have at it.
Marsha is the only one worth owning.

i think there should be "positions" but make it simplistic...

how about 2 Leading Man, 2 Leading Woman,2 supporting actor, Pet, Flex

Joe, a somewhat serious question: what about animated shows like The Simpsons, Family Guy, et al.?

Flintstones had the studio audience laugh... that's gotta count!

If it was a TV sitcom, animated is fine. Simpsons, Flintstones, South Park, etc.
As for the "positions," I like it. I want to keep this simple.
How about this:

Male1:
Male2:
Woman1:
Woman2:
Child:
Non-Human: (animal or thing)
Flex1:
Flex2:

And if we feel ambitious enough at the end of round 8, we can add a couple of more Flex rounds?

If I counted right, I have me, Sam, Lefty, Trudem, Bandit, Smitty, Fuzzies, Treff, Monkey, Chef, Face, Milk, Molson, TKO, Foot.
That's 15.
ehb gave me a "like" so I'm not sure if that means he's in? He'd be 16.
Should we cut it off at 16?

Maybe add one extra category for recurring(not main cast) character... For example if i draft artie Ziff from the simpsons

I want to keep the "positions" as is.
If you want to draft a recurring character because you like him, then draft him as your "child" or "flex."
To be honest, I think many of my picks will be "supporting cast" types and not the leads.
Because they were the ones I liked the most.
Why draft Mary Tyler Moore (lead) when Ted Knight (supporting cast) stole the show?
I feel that's the case with most TV shows.
