As the 2021 NFL Season draws closer, what are realistic expectations for the 2021 rendition of the Washington Football Team?

i think actually having a winning season is a start . we need to start putting together winning seasons together and making the playoffs year in and year out

We were 5-2 over the last seven last season. There is no reason to believe we can’t be, wait…should be at least 5-3 at the break. With good QB play, 7-1 is a possibility.

I expect to be 5-3 because Fitz will lose a game we should win and will ball in a game we should lose.

I expect the defense to be dominant and the offense to be better.

11 or 12 games is overhype at this point . we won 7 games last season and had a losing record . this year we face better qbs and teams

hell the chargers can come in here week one and whip our ass with that great young qb

Well go figure, so did I. I will take that a step further, should we lose Gibson for any length of time, we will be in trouble. Gibby is just as important to our offense as Zeke is to Dallas. Without the run game being effective, your QB won't be either. We do not have a backup RB the quality of Gibson on the roster and we could use one just in case. My guess is they will stick with what is existing and likely pick up a player should injury occur.

I'm going to need to see a QB besides Smith win games in Washington before I think it's likely to occur

The difference in record when he started vs when anyone else had started over the last few years is dramatic

If I knew fir certain Fitz was an upgrade that'd be different but no one can honestly say that for sure

CDC was horrible to watch and the team record during his tenure was a losing one

i cant tell you if fitz is an upgrade . i cant tell you father time wont bite him in the ass

i can tell you that over his last 16 games his production obliterates anything we have had since KC was qb ,

I agree 11-12 is a bit much, shoot I don't see one dominant team in the NFC this year, with the exception of Tampa.
I'd take 10 wins, if it meant we'd advance deep in the playoffs

Sticking with my previous predictions:

Fitzy plays well enough to start 19 games - losing in his second playoff game.

I assume that this means 9+ wins, but you never know if the NFC Least.

I think the Giants are more competition for theWFT than the Cowboys who have no defense at all.

My expectation (not prediction) is 10 wins, yes double digit win up 3 from last year with an extra game to get there. That would be my expectation from this team.

Provided the defense plays at least equal if not better than the 2nd of last year and Fitz works @ QB, Samuel and someone else work at WR and MOST of all a season that is not injury riddled 9 or 10 wins.

if chase and sweat both went down this team isnt winning . a surge of injuries to DT would also hurt . injuries at qb

I think we can handle losses at DT actually. I would venture to say it is the best and deepest position in the entire league.

This is a 5 win team as currently constituted and without a QB they would be fortunate to get back to 7 wins even if you include the extra game. Let me make it clear, Washington DOES NOT have a QB and will waste a season losing games because they haven't addressed this glaring hole.

I pains me to see venues dedicated to making money put the Goat-ropers as favorite to win the division. The Question is why?

First you cannot play real defense in the NFL anymore and because of that a team with the worse defense a season ago is favored because they have the best QB in the division.

I think that a good goal for our team is to attempt to get to 8 wins. They won't because the schedule is prohibitive and they ACTUALLY don't have a starting caliber QB on the team. The shame of it all is that with a mediocre QB like Cousins they could get to 8. With top level QB's this is a SB contending team. Now the question will be how long will this defense play knowing that they can keep scores lows but the team can't win games. This is my optimistic expectations for 2021... Theme, "If Only!"
