A lot of people say the Yankees success is because of the money, but there are a handful of teams that have money, and the Yankees are the only one that have that type of success. They've missed the playoffs four of the last twenty-three years.

In my opinion, he's not lucky, he's good. Same with Epstein, which was kind of my point.

Lester, though. I don't see how you can call that a clunker. 45-25, 3.33 ERA, 124 ERA+ with the Cubs. Bad ass in the '16 playoffs - NLCS MVP and a key part of a rotation that won the World Series.

I also think four games into the contract, it's a bit premature to judge the Darvish deal. I agree he's not a "true ace," but (sadly) $21MM/yr isn't "true ace money" anymore. We'll see.

At one point the Angels were spending pretty wildly and did not produce the same results as the Yankees. Actually I sit here today and ponder how Mike Scioscia still has a job?
