You are just a homer, it's ok. I watched Elway plenty and mainly his best years too. Considering almost every top 5 QB list has Elway in it, yes...overrated is the word. I can name 6 to 7 QB's ahead of Elway.
I'm the homer, even though you yourself said that nearly every list has Elway in the top 5. So it couldn't possibly be that you're wrong.

Damn, when I saw your post quoted below I was hoping you were a Seahawk's fan. That would have been funny.

Somebody please pay attention to e-nut. He's lonely.

I'm sure he's well aware of his history against the Vikings. Even when the Vikings were mediocre, they kicked his ass. That's easily the best Vikings defense he has ever played.

I think the Giants saw what The Vikings defense is capable of doing and what they did to Cam with the 8 sacks and they wanted no part of that.

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice during the Vikings game that when Giants QB Eli Manning dropped back and came under the slightest pressure, he threw the ball into the ground to avoid being hit?

He did not step into throws, and he did not stand in and deliver against pressure, at least where I could see.

If he's anxious about hits, its time to get out of pro football.

That has been Standard Eli Operating Procedure for a quite a few seasons now (at least whenever I have seen him play). The amount of intentional grounding he has gotten away with throughout his career is astonishing, even by NFL officiating standards - to the point where on occasion it became a topic discussed by the announcers during the game.

The funny thing is he on almost every overrated QB list Elway is also on there and usually top 5 if not top 3, regardless; I really don't care what random people or sources rate QB's I take numbers, eye test (if it was possible) and other factors and he isn't in top 5 if you saw him play.

There's your problem.

Notice he didn't respond to you listing the 6 QB's you have ahead of Elway... Why? Because it's not arguable... I could actually add a few more to the list. Steve Young, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger and there are others who could be argued as good. Dan Fouts, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, Kenny Stabler, Terry Bradshaw, Bart Starr

LOL ok lets not look at numbers at all. As I said, that is ONE of the many factors. I guess you agree with my top 6 which is pretty much set in stone

Yep, Brees, Big Ben, Young, Moon and Fouts all guys that could be argued also.

I didn't respond because it wasn't addressed to me, and I don't care about your obviously terrible opinion of who the best qb's are.

And anyone who thinks Brees, Moon, Roethlisberger, Fouts, and Young are even on the same planet as Elway obviously hasn't a clue what they're talking about.

Eli Manning has 'lost something' prior to childbirth. That guy is just not all there. It's like watching a Pentium Core 2 Duo processing a Norton AntiVirus scan.

Actually most of those QB's are very underrated, especially Steve Young. Keep looking through your rose-colored, homer glasses...doesn't bother me. I am not the only one that feels Elway is overrated.

Since you love stats so much here you go:

Averaged over 14 INTs and 8.5 fumbles per season. Turnover prone and inaccurate, that's not all stats, that's the eye test

I actually agree with you that Steve Young is underrated. I'd take him over Favre, personally.

None of those guys were nearly as good as Elway, though.
