Well said.

Even though he started out a Dodger, he was always a fun player to watch. He did a very good job managing us through what I'm sure was not an easy situation (Bonds/Kent, etc - talented yes, but a strange clubhouse to be sure). He was one Robbie Nen shoulder injury from a championship.

All the best to the Baker family.

Good luck to Dusty and hope he gets better soon. Sad/scary story to hear.

I always liked Dusty, a good players manager, and a good dude. Used to see him at the Elephant Bar at SFO, back in the day.

When he donned a Giants jersey for the 2002 Giants reunion a few months ago, that told you everything about where his heart belonged. The fans returned the love; I think Dusty got the loudest ovation.

I think it is pretty regular practice for someone to wear the uni during a reunion, even if that person is with another org. I seem to remember Kent doing something similar a few years back when he was with the doggies ( I may be mistaken about that). I also suspect Bam Bam wore a snakes uni in their alumni game earlier this season.

Heck, PTMFB signed a 1-day contract with Philly earlier this season WHILE STILL A SCOUT FOR THE GIANTS.

Hope for the best for the guy....but if the Giants don't win the series...I don't want it to be Dusty. I still blame him for the Game 6 meltdown in 2002....
