Are you forgetting Barry Switzer and Jackie Sherrill were the two most hated coaches in the country? That's why everyone was stunned when Joe Paterno had nothing but nice things to say about Switzer before the NC game when we beat Penn State to win the 1985 National Championship. Barry was HATED by a lot of people. "Dick" was one of the nicer words he was called. But we loved him!

i saw all the home games and a number of away games from 1970 thru 1978. And of course I know all about Switzer, Paterno et al. but I would never put Switzer in the same boat as JS....
