Wow, the stands were empty. That is sad. Kind of reminds of the Padres games I went to as a kid in the 70s.
one reporter guy said he counted them by freezing his tv screen several times and counting: said there were 384 by his count...
throw in the South Florida game, where I counted about 30, and the Pitt FIU game, which had to have had less that 500.
South Florida is just not a great sports town for attending games.
It is vibrant, fun, and fantastically cool cosmopolitan town....nobody gets overly serious about sports
Plus it is a transplant town.
There are zillions of transplanted northerners moving away from the cold weather....with 24-7 internet and cable coverage, those northerners don't need to embrace the local teams. They can still easily get their old teams from back home.
