Does anybody know if this is true?

One of the guys at my church was telling me he read somewhere (he thought it was the Des Moines Register) that the Big Ten is seriously thinking about adding Notre Dame. Since they are so strong on keeping it to 12 teams, they would take Indiana out of the Big Ten.

I am not buying it because I am not finding it in any of the newspapers or sports Has anyone else heard this rumor?

I dont think notre dame and the big10 see "eye to eye" on a lot of matters. I've always heard if they do decide to join a conference it will eithe be the Big12 or the ACC.

I have a hard time believing that removing Indiana could possibly be true. I don't know if there even is a provision for kicking a team out of the conference.

I had a hard time believing Indiana myself. I can see adding ND though. Indiana might not be strong in football, but they are one that are strong in basketball. I would think Purdue would be the logical choice of the school to boot.

The reason I wondered if it is true is that there have been a lot of changes recently in college football.

The latest rumor I heard was that the big 12 had an offer out to them that stated they would have to play 5 Big 12 teams in football and move all their orther sports to the Big 12. ND would also be eligible to play in the champions bowl on behalf of a big12 team should they earn it or access to any other Big 12 Bowl game.
I don't buy Notre Dame going anywhere unless they are told flat out that the BCS voters will not vote for them unless they are in a conference.

I saw that too. It was Bleacher Report I think. They said that if the B1G wants to stay at 12 teams, then they need to add ND in football and let them have the rest of their sports in the Big East and move Indiana football there (Big East) and have the rest of their sports in the B1G. Completely retarded.

When does the SEC add Virginia and UNC?

All conferences will be 16 teams within 5 years IMO. The addition of a playoff to CFB will only expedite the process.
