Watching the game last night, I thought I saw DIEHARD behind the WVU bench.
What a game last night! What a finish!
Press Virginia forced OU into 21 TO's. The kids played with so much energy. Dax wore himself out denying Buddy the ball all night.
When Holton grabbed the rebound off the missed layup with 1.8 sec's left... I thought it was over. I literally, fell out of my seat when Buddy made the go ahead 3. Thank God for the review.
I like how this team has been on a run at season's end. These kind of runs have helped WVU gain the momentum and confidence for deep NCAA runs in the past. Think back to 2005...Elite 8... 2008... Sweet 16... 2010... Final 4.
As we know, the NCAA runs require great guard play... especially out of the PG. What has me excited about this team is the improved play of Jevon Carter. Just a month ago, I was ready to see him get less PT. But, in the last 4 games... this kid has become big time. He is taking care of the ball... shooting the rock like he's unconscious... and becoming the link necessary to propel this team.
With Xavier going down to Seton Hall last night, I think WVU is a lock for a 2 seed.
Like I said at the beginning of the season, WVU was heavily flawed... to get them to this level may be Huggin's best coaching effort... ever.
Great stuff...
