ND and BYU should be forced to play each other in a post season "bowl" every year.

I don't blame BYU for being an independent. I think they've tried on several occasions to join a conference and have been rejected.

Where is everyone getting that Notre Dame destroyed UVa? UVa was leading at halftime, had 5 turnovers in the 2nd half all on ND's side of the field, and still only beat UVa by 2 possessions. Besides the Michigan game, it was Book's worst game of the season.

Yeah. ND did this to themselves. Bowls have conference tie-ins. Unless they make a NY6 bowl or the playoff, they get hosed without a conference. Join a conference and get better bowls.
Honestly, I agree ND should join a conference, but I also think conference tie-ins are stupid anymore. If we get to the point where the committee is feeling forced to keep a UVA team ranked because they know they're going to a NY6 Bowl, it's pathetic. The CFP get's the first 4, and then a rotating pecking order should start with the 2nd tier bowls, then 3rd tier, and so on, regardless of conference. I couldn't care less about facing the Pac12 in the Rose Bowl anymore.

If you don't play by Fox or the Mommyship's rules then you can go have your games on NBC for all we care. Neener neener.

No. Join a conference or take the consequences of not being in one

1991 Notre Dame signed a TV contract with NBC and received $19 million over 5 years.

Been on NBC since.

Too bad Notre Dame has a bad bowl. I don't feel sorry for them. I don't watch their games anyway.

Notre Dame claims a lot of the money is used for academics, but a lot of the money is also funneled to lawyers to protect the football players that prey on the women of St. Mary's College.

I found it pretty funny when I saw their bowl destination. You get what you deserve, don't like it join a conference.

They were in the WAC and Mt. West.

Honestly Notre Dame should join a conference, but not until they absolutely need to. And I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they're doing. We already have a deal with the ACC to play 5-6 games/season with them (unfortunately).

The latest line I see for the game has ND at -3.5 vs IState. The line isn't dissing the pairing like Barstool Sports. There are many other bowl pairings with larger spreads.
Vegas ranks ND 15 and ISU 23. So the line wont be much. If anything id expect it to drop once the sharp money comes in

Notre Dame can go fuck themselves forever.

While we should all admire the tradition and history of the program, they have been privileged like none other.

Over 50+ years of preferential treatment including TV, revenue, coverage via media, bowl games, the Bowl Coalition, even the BCS, and even today without even being in a conference and considered a P5 team in the CFP playoff consideration/rankings.

Join the ACC or GTFO.

ND is eligible for any ACC Bowl Tie-In. With one exception. They are not allowed to be the ACC Champ
in the Orange Bowl or ACC Rep if the champ is in the playoffs. This year they are in the league's 3rd best
bowl, behind the Playoffs and the Orange Bowl. (ND is eligible for a visitor spot in the Orange Bowl.) They
probably lost that spot because it would be a rematch vs UVA, plus ND was not a top 12 team which is required
to be an at-large selection.

When ND gets an ACC spot they qualify for an equal share of league bowl revenues. If they make the
playoffs or play in one of the elite 5 bowl games, they do not have to share their money with the ACC,
BUT, they get a reduced amount of bowl money.

I'll give you an example. The ACC Champ/Rep receives 27 mil for an Orange Bowl appearance vs
the Big10/SEC tie-in for the at-large spot. That at-large spot gets 27 mil also. If ND is the at-large
team at the Orange Bowl they would get 13 mil while the ACC champ/rep gets 40 mil.

When ND gets an elite 6 bowl bid, they do not qualify for a share of league bowl money.

I'll gladly take going to a meaningless bowl game over joining a conference.

it might make the bowl games interesting if the other bowls had a national pecking order and not conference related. Like rose gets the first two out of the playoff and so on.
