Now can we stop with the whole LBJ will be GOAT discussion. 7 POINTS IN A PLAYOFF GAME! PATHETIC! And hasn't he scored 15 or less 4 or 5 times now in his playoff career?

So let's just stop that nonsense...

Using a player's scoring total from a game in which that player picked up 5 fouls in less than 13 minutes of game time is ludicrous. Unless you want to criticize his ability to stay out of foul trouble.

As for the other 3 times LeBron scored less than 15 points in a playoff game... he averaged 10 rebounds and 9 assists in those games.

Scoring wise, Jordan certainly has a huge edge over LeBron James... but James obviously brings a ton more to the potential GOAT discussion than just scoring points.

BTW, Michael Jordan averaged more than 25 FGA per playoff game in his 179 games... in 152 games LeBron is averaging right at 20 FGA per game.

I'm not ready to dethrone MJ from the GOAT... but anyone who pretends like simply bringing LeBron into the discussion is "nonsense" (or even not warranted) is delusional, IMO.

He barely played a quarter when having 5 fouls.

Have you seen what he has done the whole season. First time he didn't get double digits in forever.

MJ has scoring.

Lebron has passing, rebounding, and defense.

GOAT!

And if you wanna say he isn't clutch. Wrong again. He is the most clutch player in the NBA since coming into the league.

GOAT!

This is on par with the reporter at the French Open the other day congratulating the tennis player at the press conference. (he was the first person to ask him a question)

The player asked him why, proceeded to tell told him he lost and asked reporter if he saw the match. Reporter replied no, that he was told the player won the match.

DUMB!

Yep.

Sorry to tell the OP that Lebron isn't perfect. He is very disappointed now. :laugh3:

Wilt Chamberlain was the Greatest of All-Time. He even played for the Harlem Globetrotters! He also played opposite Arnold in Conan the Barbarian. I especially loved the scene where a drunk Conan bumped into Wilt's character, classic scene.
Chamberlain holds numerous NBA all-time records in scoring, rebounding and durability categories. He is the only player to score 100 points in a single NBA game or average more than 40 and 50 points in a season. He also won seven scoring, nine field goal percentage, and eleven rebounding titles, and once even led the league in assists.[3] Chamberlain is the only player in NBA history to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game in a season, a feat he accomplished nine times. He is also the only player to average at least 30 points and 20 rebounds per game over the entire course of his NBA career.

Wilt Chamberlain was the Greatest of All-Time.

If greatest individual talent is all that was counted I would agree, but the object is to win the game and he was selfish with his play style which probably cost him titles.

Foul trouble doesn't make you shoot 0% from the field in the 4th quarter. Yes, 0%. On top of being scared to shoot the ball late and making the wrong play instead - and your team losing.

GOAT??? :laugh3:

His teams won 2 titles and he even led the league in Assists one season. He clearly did what the coach and the team wanted him to do. I never once read about any controversy from his teammates concerning his playing style, other than admiration. He's one of the few players from his era that could be an All-Star in today's game.

He played during the era that saw the Boston Celtics, clearly the best team of that era, won 11 Titles. The number of Hall of Famers he played alongside are few compared to Bill Russell.

Many people confuse Greatest Player of All-Time with teammate with the most titles, I don't.

Chamberlin was a great, but he had rudementary flaws, most notably, an inability to shoot the basketball from beyond a set distance. This led to a methodology used by teams and notably Auerbach to hack wilt. Wilt could not shoot free throws, and 4th quarter leads "Wilted" away.

He also was easy to get upset on the court, and always worried what others thought. He was also quite busy off court and could lose focus on the game for weeks.

He played with West/Goodrich and Baylor. He played with greats.

By the way, I am no LBJ fan, but that reffing was a joke, a joke. The NBA decided there would be a game 6, and they made sure LBJ had no chance to play in game 5

Yep, he was a poor free throw shooter. However didn't need to shoot from beyond a set distance, because he could get to the paint and score. If Chamberlain had played for the Celtics and Russell had played for the Warriors/76ers/Lakers. Bill Russell wouldn't be a 'name', if fact he wouldn't have played for the Lakers, because they would not have signed him. Wilt always outplayed Russell.

Really, he lost focus for weeks at a time and was easy to get upset and he never fouled out of a game in his entire 14 year career or was tossed from a game. Badmouthing a player without specifics is a poor tactic. Please show us some statistics where Wilt "lost focus" for weeks. smh

I wrote fewer, not none.

How do you shoot 0% from the field and make a 3 pointer in the same quarter?

Did you seriously type the bolded? Wilt played for the Lakers from 1968-1973.

In the Lakers best year with Wilt (1971-72) Baylor retired 9 games into the season due to nagging knee issues. So even though Wilt played on the same team, it wasn't "in his prime Elgin Baylor".

Jerry West retired in 1974, so while the Jerry West that Wilt played with was still very good, he was also near the end of his career.

Only Goodrich could be considered to be truly in his prime.

Meanwhile, Bill Russell was a Celtic from 1956 to 1969. He played with many more hall of famers and most of them in their prime when they were his teammate.
