Could use a teammate or two. But I'm guessing since he hit well in CIN, he played in the central division for either for MIL or STL since in 2011 each were in the post, and I think that was the year of STL. Pulhos? No, too good. How about that prick Rolen?

Very good thinking. He was a teammate of Pujols (and maybe Rolen I'm not sure)

Lance Berkman. He played with the Cards briefly. He had an amazing on base percentage in his career.

Really? I see the Cardinals in spring training games. Actually you tipped me off when you said St louis
or Cincinnati.

I see. Plus you're probably a closet Cards fan. Actually, I am because they have a fantastic baseball organization. At their park in St. Louis, they have 8 or 9 statues of Cards' hall of famers at the entrance, guys like Stan Musial, Slaughter, Dizzy Dean, Hornsby, Schoendienst, Brock, etc. McGuire's remains in a warehouse. lol.

The Trevor Story story has reminded me of another player who got off to a great start his rookie year. This guy came up in the 80's and hit I think 14 homeruns in his first month in the big leagues and led the league for the first month or two of the season. People were figuring out that he was on pace for 70, etc. He only ended up with about 20 for the season but still was a very good hitter. He had a long career but was really more of a line drive hitter so I don't think he was ever close to leading the league in homers for a full season. He is not a hall of famer but was a very good hitter throughout his career.
I wish I could give more clues but I actually don't know the answer to this one. I've been driving myself crazy trying to remember it but before I just start looking at all the players that came up in the 80's I figured I'd put the question here and see if anyone could get it.

No, not Burks. But strangely enough after a large coffee I suddenly remembered his name. He was a fairly well known player. Also, I checked the HR log and he wasn't a prolific HR hitter in his first week like Story but after game 36 he had 15 HRs so that is when people started extrapolating and saying he was on pace to hit 65 or 70 HRs for the year.

Damn, if you asked me who his career is similar to I would say both of those guys. You should know his name at least.

This guy is actually pretty well known. I'm surprised I had such a hard time remembering who it was. I think he might even be a coach with the Phillies now. If you don't get it, I'm sure Northeast will.
