What about my name? Why does my name matter? Grow up, son.

Grow up? hilarious.....a guy who has to state "imsmarterthanyou" in his name tends to lack actual IQ and then the bonus part...a pic with a haircut seen on most 7 to 13 yr olds who never developed fully yet with repressed rebelion emotions and use the "hair" to show they are "rebelious"...

way to exert your all powerfull brain and show its strength.

PS...LOVE that this thread is on here...the truth tends to always outweigh perceived intelligence.

Wow. This might be the single best response I've ever gotten on a message board. First, you take a jab at my screenname (who does that?) without even spelling it right. Then, you make fun of my picture, actually thinking that it's me in the picture. Amazing.

Thank you for making yourself part of the joke. Well done.

I never would have pegged Craig Biggio as a big strikeout guy

When you play that long in a high-strikeout environment, you're going to compile a lot of k's. What the MENSA members behind this thread fail to point out is that the vast majority of the players in the Top 50 all-time strikeout list played in the last 30 years. Strikeouts have increased dramatically throughout baseball over that time.

They were also mostly power hitters and steroid freaks, and Jeter is neither

One of the greatest strikeout artists, and one of the best slap hitters

Tony Gwynn has less than 500 strikeouts in his career

The hate for Jeter is like the hate for a song that gets played to death on the radio. Regardless of how great the song is people will get tired of hearing it. It doesn't matter that 20 years down the road you'll look back and say, man that was an amazing song, right now that song annoys you. Jeter will be the same way. 20 years down the road even the most adamant Jeter haters will say that mother fucker was as solid a ballplayer as there ever was.

Most of them also had considerably fewer plate appearances.

I still don't understand the overriding point. Jeter strikes out a lot. Great.

And I never blame the artist when that happens. I blame the radio/MTV/whoever is playing the song to death.

does the plate appearance argument also count when you guys discuss him getting to 4000 hits, or does it only to his negative stats?

"Plate appearances should have absolutely has nothing to do with Jete's average. It's not fair."

Guess who does not lead the Yanks in K's tonight? Jeter.

Guess who will? Their 2B tonight, that's who.

Look it up.

First, you will laugh. Then, you will wonder W.T.F. Then you will agree that I will be right.

I love how people don't actually look closely at his name.
