likely hall of famer and slap hitting shortstop strikes out at an alarming rate, considering he does not hit a lot of home runs. He was supposed to finish this season in the top 15. Upon seeing this thread for the last few years on cbs, he has decided the pursuit is not as important as milking his latest injury. Of all the players ahead of him on this list, the Captain has the fewest home runs.

22. Derek Jeter 1743
21. Carlos Delgado 1745
19. Andruw Jones and Dale Murphy 1748
18. Craig Biggio 1753
17. Bobby Bonds 1757
16. Ken Griffey Jr 1779
15. Manny Ramirez 1813
14. Dave Kingman 1816
13. Tony Perez 1867

Do you have numbers for the strikeout rate (so/ab) of those guys? Google says Jeter's is just south of 15%.

38 years old
never been married

never co-habited with a woman
no woman anywhere claims to have had sex with him

97% of men aged 38 or older, who have never been married to a woman and/or fathered a child, are gay

Hmm, never thought of Jeter as a high-K player, but I checked your numbers and everything is accurate

Hard to argue with what's right in front of you

We can kickstart this thing now that the fragile pussy is finally playing in games

Should be Top 20 all time by the end of the week, and #16 by the end of the season.

I don't understand why this matters. Are they retroactively going to change the rules to make a strikeout count for 2 outs or something? I also see you didn't mention the number of plate appearances these guys had. I'd guess that Jeter had several thousand more plate appearances than a lot of these guys. Jeter strikes out quite a bit for a guy who's purported to be a contact hitter, but his big career strikeout totals are a function of his longevity as well as the era he played in (where strikeouts are up universally around the game).

Wow...so this is what happens when former E!SPN posters meet former CBS posters.

One group gets trolled in by someone from the other.

ImSmartherThanYou and any of the other non-CBS posters, BlackFrancis just trolled you all in with a troll thread that was a regular on the CBS main MLB Message Board.

This was funny though considering the culprits involved from both former websites.

Sorry, I was told that these boards were legit and lacked the trolls of the old E!SPN boards. I'm finding that very much to not be the case. Very little serious discussion. Very disappointing. I wish TheFanatic would come back.

Whatever happened to TheFanatic?

If you wanna see the whole CBS daily troll cast, just follow "RockStrongo's" daily threads. Some of them are actually funny though.

Its just the counter to those who use the Merits of Totals when judging a players career.. Like Home Runs, Hits, RBIs etc etc

No one usually bothers to ask HR/AB in that situation, now do they? 3,000 hits is usually a pretty big bench Mark on its own, regardless of BA, no?
