What needs to happen for us to win?

I hope Palmer is ready to go for this one honestly. Stanton has done a fine job of replacing him, but I think we're better off with him just being that-- a backup.

If our defense can contain the game in the air then I think that leads to a close game automatically. PP, Cro and the rest of our secondary needs to step up and play as good as we know they can. I think it'll be a nail biter but AZ pulls out a close one 31-28. Not confident with that prediction, because Denver is really tough, but it's my gut feeling.

I am not sure Denver is as unbeatable as they were last year. I think the Cardinals have a great shot in this game. I am not predicting a win, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

A healthy Cromartie & pressure up the middle. Both are the key to pulling out a win.

The secondary has been very good in one-on-one coverage so far this season. They really haven't been beat deep yet. I think they will match up well with Denver's receivers if Cro is ready to go.

Pressure up the middle is what the Cardinals do well & is also the most effective against Manning. Making him move from side to side to avoid the pressure results in him being slightly in accurate. Pressure from the outside doesn't work well against Manning because unlike Kap, Manning will just step up into the pocket & make the throw.

Basically if we just keep doing what we do with a healthy Cromartie on the field & not turn the ball over, we have a chance to pull out a road in against a very good team.

Palmer said he'll be more than ready for next Sunday. Great news... I'm glad we have an early bye week because I think Ellington, Palmer, Badger, Cooper and Cro all needed it badly.

Should be a good game. I know that you guys have a good team that is capable of winning the game. I do expect, however, that Denver will be quite inspired for this game. :suds:

It's gonna be a dog fight. Really looking forward to it! I think it's a statement game for both teams. They'll both be well prepped and ready to go.

I'd have to put my $ on Denver. They are at home and how often does Peyton lose two in a row? But I agree, no surprise if AZ wins either.

I think they need to get more pressure than they have been. They also need longer, sustained drives to keep Peyton from having too many opportunities.

Any Denver fans know what's going on with Welker?

Seems like all systems are a go with Welker, whether you agree that he should be playing or not. He looked decent in the Seattle game last Sunday but it makes most fans worried about another concussion.

I think that Cardinal fans should fell great about their team and should go into the next game at Denver with confidence. Arizona has been the story of the short season so far, IMO. I think Drew Stanton is really balling right now and he presents some problems for the Broncos. I'm MOST impressed at how your team is dealing with the injuries that you've suffered already. I believe that is a direct result of a strong coaching staff and certainly depth.

On to the game....no doubt both teams want to impose their will on the other and realize that this is a statement game. Since the Chargers are off to a strong start, you can be assured that Denver absolutely sees this game as mega important. Can't fall back too far in our own division. The odds are going to favor Denver at home but the Broncos offense has not been firing on all cylinders yet for some reason. The bye week should give both teams an opportunity to focus on getting better and to game plan like no other week in the year.

Although the Broncos offense seems to be off a click or two, I think it's the Denver "D" that may be the difference maker. They're coming out of Seattle with stronger confidence and this unit is really starting to gel. The entire team and fanbase is gonna be really fired up for this one. Gotta protect the home turf before they go out on the road for a bunch of games.

Should be a good game. No injuries on either side and a Broncos win are what I'm looking for, of course! Go Broncos!

I was reading today that Palmer is not recovering as well as first thought and there is a good chance he doesn't play in this game. Anybody heard any different?

As for the game should be interesting. 2 top teams in the league fighting it out is always fun to watch. Broncos do get back one of their best players on defense this week in Trevathan so I see the Broncos defense really putting together a full game for the first time all season. Offensively I would expect the Broncos to be a bit better as well with Welker finally getting some practice time for really the first time in over a month. The big question for the Broncos right now though is D. Thomas. Supposedly he has had an injury that has slowed him down some. If he healed up over the bye week I could see the Broncos working to get him involved early and often in this one.

Like I said should be a good one. Vegas has the Broncos favored by 9 points and I am seriously thinking of taking the bet on the Cardinals as I don't think the Broncos are 9 point favorites even at home. The Cardinals defense is too good to let that happen.

I certainly feel as if Welker should be allowed to play. With the new agreement on the rules, he is eligible. I don't even see a controversy personally. Maybe others feel differently, but that is the way I see it. If you are one to complain, it isn't about Welker specifically, it is about the new rules.

I think the Cardinals will be able to disrupt the Denver offense. To what degree is the question. I do believe Denver is more vulnerable than they were last year. I still see a Cardinals loss when all is said and done, but I think it is going to be quite the game.

I have mixed emotions about the Cardinal QB situation. I think Palmer is the better QB, but only if he is 100% and is prepared. That seems to be up in the air. I see no reason to rush him back in too early the way Stanton has played.

Good luck to the Broncos. No injuries. I will write I hope it is a good game, but in all honestly, I want the Cardinals to win by 50. I don't think that will happen, but that is my wish.

The Palmer reports are really inconsistent. He said like a week ago he was essentially all better and ready to go, but Arians says the other day it's not looking so good.

For some teams this makes sense if it's a strategic misinformation move, but I don't know that Denver prepares any differently for Palmer than they would Stanton.

I saw that Palmer didn't practice today and was excused to go to a specialist and have them look at the nerve in his shoulder. Sounds like there has been a set back?

Yes. The nerve regressed since last week. There was some swelling in the tissue around the nerve from all the throwing he did that caused an irritation in the nerve. Sounds like it will be Stanton starting unless Palmer can throw by Thursday afternoon.
