How much of a playbook do you need to know to be handed the ball and just run fast though? Not putting him in position to use the skills he has looks more like a game plan/play calling problem than a playbook knowledge one. One thing we thought we were getting in Waldron was some creativity in the play calling. That has definitely not been the case so far. Same old unblocked WR screens where we give a guy the ball 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage and say "good luck, fucker." Shocking how that never works out.

Well after that horrendous throw by DJ Dallas for an INT I think its fair to say that we may not have the right weapons for Waldrons creativity on this team. Geno Smith isn't exactly a masterful creative thrower behind center.

The crazy thing is Lockett throws a nice ball... He's always throwing in warm ups before the games... Not sure why they wouldn't utilize him instead when being creative...

WTF is going on with this guy? He appears healthy but he didn't even get 10 snaps while Goodwin got like 3x the amount.

Like is he still got a nagging injury? Is Carroll trying to introduce him slowly since he missed so much of last year? Does he not understand our playbook? We spent a valuable 2nd rounder on the guy when we barely had any picks in 2021 so wtf gives?
He's an undersized WR who was able to rack up yardage in the MAC West based purely off his 4.40 40. He relied on his speed to get separation at the college level, but you need more than that at the NFL level and he just doesn't have it. Honestly I'm not all that surprised it has turned out this way. Pretty sure most considered him a 4th round prospect. It's the perfect example of the regime reaching for a player that they think will be special, but everyone else didn't see much in.

It was an awful pick from the jump considering the best center in the draft was there - Creed Humphry - who has vastly exceeded expectations already.

As a guy who followed him and is a fan of his college team, I was shocked he went as high as he did.

Not as shocked as when Corey Davis went 5th overall, since he’d rather not catch with his hands, but still shocked.

So you say "penny has not played enough to show consistency" and you say "He has played enough to show inconsistency" ??? lol
that is what you are saying.

There is no way for anyone to fight that logic because it's flawed. EXTREMELY flawed. "YOU" set the goal posts not facts.

Nice to see my evaluation wasn't off on Eskridge.

Corey Davis going 5th overall made a lot more sense to me IMO. He had the production, size and speed that NFL teams look for. That being said, taking a WR 5th overall is risky, especially when they played in the MAC-West, with all due respect to your Broncos.

I wonder if they thought Eskridge would be a golden tate/Doug Baldwin type where he is a shorter receiver that they would be there to make plays but now that RW is gone we could have used that pick on a defensive player

I always thought Eskridge would be our 4th WR but the #1 Returner yet they are not using his return skills at all really. He was great at that in college.

He never returned a punt at Western. Was great his super senior year on kickoffs. But that was the only season he returned those.

If you want to get angry at your FO, look at his college stats. He touched the ball 140 times, in 5 seasons.

Yes but he was a very good to great KR'er his last season, 17 ret, 467 yards, 27.5 avg, 1 TD. I always thought he was going to be our Return guy and a lightly used WR. If anyone thought he was going to be a stud WR then they didn't see him play at all not even highlights. I never thought he would be a great WR i thought a good to great returner who could add to the offense with fly sweeps and a reception or two a game at most.

Our kick returner now (Sean Tyler)is prolly better. And our guy before, Darius Phillips was too. He was a fifth rounder.

Using Dee as a returner would atleast get something out of him. But he wasn’t the type of specialist that warrants a pick that high.

Hell the pick is nothing, Pete and John always over draft so I'm use to it. I also think they thought of him as a Tyler Lockett style player that 3 or 4 years down the road he could be a #2 or #3 WR. His first concussion told me all I needed to know about him. FRAGILE

Remind me why we drafted this guy again? LOL... He got hurt on his only catch of the game... Seems to always get hurt when he's involved in a play... And then to watch him whiff on two blocks that resulted in our RB's getting hit in the backfield was hard to watch...

At least have him return punts/kicks... Make him useful...
