Those of us--myself included--who cheer on our college teams support this system, period. Support does not have to be only monetary.

I hold myself personally accountable for my own kids and they dont sound like Jameis Winston when they speak. I did just send MSU about $7000 this week so maybe I am part of the problem :P

I understand what you are saying, but then we--as a society--are a bunch of hypocrites. If it really bothered us that much, we would demand that our colleges and universities do a better job of educating their student athletes. If you go to CNN, they did a recent study on a number of universities/colleges regarding test scores for incoming student athletes. It's dismal and depressing. What gets under my craw is that we celebrate these kids, give them scholarships, endorsements, etc., but then blast them when they reach some pinnacle of success and they don't measure up to our standards. Fucking ridiculous. We are all fully aware that student athletes at top tier schools get the VIP treatment and are not held to she same standard as traditional students.

And a bit of jealousy perhaps.

Did anyone, that follows college football closely, ever believe Jameis Winston enrolled in college with the desire to become an English professor?

Some of you need to stop watching college ball altogether and start tuning into spelling bee competitions (they're more your speed). Jameis 2 dam fast fo yall an mind fuckin dat sed haters.

I watched that interview live and he sounded like an idiot. He talks with a ton of arrogance which is expected but he butchered whatever language he was speaking. I don't get why people destroy the language they were taught. Everyone uses some slang but some of these athletes are speaking a secret code. Their social media stuff is even worse than the interviews.

If only we could get the liberals pissed off about this. Then shit would get done. :-)

if shit got done, you'd have a hell of a lot of angry professional sports fans all over the country. the quality of the goods would go down dramatically, college sports wouldn't be worth tuning in (costing colleges a boat load), then some new post-high school, pre-professional league would start up allowing the really good athletes to forego college all together.

same end result, these guys would eventually make it to the pros, but the schools would lose tons of cash from their sports revenue and be the only ones financially hurt by it.....why do you hate the American college system??? :D

Evidence to back up that statement?

So you actually believe that a kid who says, "And I said, we said are- I said are you strong? They said I’m strong if you strong and I said we strong then," is capable of pulling a 3.0 at a quality school like FSU without serious help? And that isn't even his worst quote. The guy probably signs his name with an X

Why do people care so much if he is stupid?

4/5 of the players on almost any team at any level wouldn't be considered "intelligent." I'm going to laugh when this fucker scores a 40 on the Wonderlic in a few years.

The fuck does is matter anyways? Worst case scenario is he makes a fucking 4 on the Wonderlic like Morris Claiborne and is still a top-10 pick (probably still the 1st overall.)
