Good thinking DC. I had a sense he was going to break a long one - on every carry for Henderson last night. He can get through the hole very fast.

The Broncos appear to have a number problem at RB. Usually - someone is nursing and injury (I'm looking at you Booker), but the Broncos appear deep at RB -and we haven't even seen J. Charles yet.

One of Charles or Ridley are going to have to go. It really comes down to Charles health. Probably get a good look at him in week 3 (I hope so anyway) if not, then Ridley may just beat him out.

Honestly even though with his big run last night I see us cutting Thompson as well. That leaves us with CJ, Booker, Charles, & Henderson plus Janovich at FB. Of course if Charles looks terrible then replace him with Thompson but I don't see us keeping more than 4 RB's.

But to me it is clear when you are so careful with someone that you don't play him in either PS game. We will see though.

Yeah, not thrilled with limited action with Charles. How great a weapon will he be if he gets 10 plays a game?

Save the million bucks and roster spot, give Henderson those 10 plays, and get a real qb.

If Denver wants to utilize FB as much as they've indicated, who's going to fill in for Jano if he goes down. Thompson is only guy that can play position decently on roster. I think that reason alone helps him stay alive. Plus, I like the guy. I think Charles or Ridley goes before Juwan. IMO, of course.

Not many teams keep 2 FB's, many don't even keep 1, but FB is trending again the last two years at least.

I would think we would put a FB/RB type on the PS.

Jeez, I love CJ Anderson but IMO Henderson and Ridley have actually looked better.

That's why Thompson is valuable. Not only can he fill the Fb spot, he has done pretty good in Rb role as well. If Denver let's him hit waiver wire, he'll be picked up quickly. If Denver wasn't a team that expressed utilizing the FB spot more, then yes, his value diminishes .

Yeah we aren't keeping two FB's. Roster spots are too precious. No way we keep 4 RB's and 2 FB's.

If we cut both Ridley and Charles then Thompson has a chance since he can play both.

I also wonder with Henderson looking so good that has to hurt Ridley and Charles a bit as vets... If Anderson, Booker and Henderson are all running ahead of them what is the point in having your 4th RB be inactive vet RB? That would help Thompson's case.

The thing helping Charles/Ridley would be Booker being hurt. Denver could justify him being the inactive back at least for the first few weeks of the season as he recovers and gets back up to speed. But doesn't make much sense to have Ridley or Charles as an inactive back, IMO. If they feel Booker is ready to go and Henderson deserves to be active that is really gonna hurt those two and probably help Thompson who is younger and plays special teams and is more versatile. Although he hasn't made much of in impact on special teams, but has played them.

Be interesting to see what we do there.
