Yep. I agree. They weren't going to win it all though and that's what this thread is about lol

None of us know who the hell is going to win it all. We can all act like we know, but we don't. Part of that reason is why I think it's dumb to dismiss anyone at this point.

Maybe. He's the one guy and why I saud I give them a better shot this year even if it's not much of a shot

Yeah and their go to guy got hurt last year and clearly wasn't the same player.

Sure and it's especially dumb when we don't know the matchips. I'm not dismissing UVA, I'm saying I'd( in general ) give them much worse odds than what we're listed here. Same for Maryland, Kentucky and others

Brogdon is more equipped to carry a team even than a full strength Anderson was imo

holy f balls

Still no Jefferson, on the road in the ACC, Pitt needing the win in a worse way, Allen controversy, Jones still healing a bad ankle...from the very start, the stars in their courses were against them.

Its almost the most wonderful time of the year. It is going to be difficult to fill out a bracket this year. there hasnt really been a dominate #1 team this year.

true, but this is a a beat down

They usually have one every year. This is no different. Pitt was primed to have a great outing. Duke dug a hole in the first half and starting jacking threes to get it back too quick. I cannot remember Duke getting but a couple of snow birds.

I didn't say they don't score enough per possession. I'm not speaking to efficiency at all. UVA had really good efficiency numbers the last 2 years as well. I'm speaking to a 1 game, win or go home tournament and whether you think a team can score enough in a gane where they give up 75-80 points to win that game on any kind of regular basis. It's the same argument I've had the last 2 years. I will say UVA is MORE equipped to win that game this year but just not enough for me to give them Mich if a shot to win it all

I'm confused. Why do you think Virginia will be giving up 80 points on 60 possessions? If your theory is that Virginia can't win a title because they can't win when their opponent is scoring 1.33 PPP, then no one is winning a title.

You compare teams by looking at their points per possession and points per possession against. And adjusted for competition, Virginia is #3 in the country.

And as for the last two years, it was against Michigan State. Bennett's system can't handle the rebounding and physicality of Izzo's system. It didn't work when his Dad was at Wisconsin and it doesn't work now at Virginia. I picked MSU over Virginia both of the last two years and I'll do it again if they wind up in the same bracket. It doesn't mean Virginia can't find a path to the title, because they absolutely can.

Because UVA will eventually play a game where the other team speeds them up. It's absolutely going yo happen. When it does you have to ask if you think they're capable of scoring enough to win that game

So why is the offense that is #10 in offensive efficiency the one you are convinced can't keep up with them? If an opposing offense speeds up the game, it just gives more possessions for Virginia's very good offense.

You are spouting the same things people said about Wisconsin the last two years. An efficient offense is an efficient offense.

It's whatever S. I saud ut the last 2 years about UVA and they proved me right. It'll be the same way this year. Don't remember anyone saying it about Wisky last year. They had elite offensive talent. UVA doesnt. They need a certain pace to win. Less so this year but it's still there

My Mountaineers have good guard play and good defense, with a style that's prepared to prepare for. The tendency to go ice cold from the field worries me though.

I like Xavier at 14 to 1. They are tough as nails.
