Good day to be a Sox fan. Everything worked the way it was supposed to in the win today.

Just a note related to Rodon - he had 8 days rest prior to this start and was his old self again. With is next contract he's not likely to be paid for 30 starts in a season - it would be more like 22. So Rodon has injury history and he has durability concerns, but he is having a wonderful year on the mound.

Yeppers, it did look like Rodon benefitted from the extra rest. His stuff was electric today and his FB was back in the uber high 90's.

Also, can't help but notice that in just scanning the stadium in general, while the crowds make up a huge majority of Cubs fans and naturally so, you'd never know this by the noise factor. Without question the Sox fans are dominating the enthusiasm level. The stadium may be 3-1 or 4-1 Cubs fans, but if you're only listening to the games, you'd think it was 50-50, maybe even an edge to the South Siders.

I swear to GOD that how I feel right now. And they have the audacity to build a sportsbook across the street from Wrigley Field. Man everyone going in there gonna be fading the color off the Cubs..

Granted, Cease didn't have one of his better games, but he far from sucked. He settled down those last couple of innings and ended up with 10 Ks. That's not suckage in my book.

Nice to see Eloy break out the whuppin stick. He's been a Cub killer for much of his early career against them, so I'm sure he was thrilled to get off the schneid tonite at their expense.

He was struggling at that time, granted. But he righted the ship and earned the W. Not his best performance by any stretch, but I liked his moxie.

I caught only a little bit then had to do the condensed games for the weekend. My little one had his birthday so we did go-karts/water park and by Sunday I was tapped. It sucks getting old. But not as bad as it sucks to be a Cubs fan...
