I think the song is catchy, my dad thinks it's derivative and for fruitcakes (mind you, he likes Elton in general).

Elton John has a lot of catchy tunes. I am sure there are some hidden jokes or whatever hidden in there, but who cares.

That said, two pepole have been trying to sell an Elton John pinball machine on my local craigslist. I just found it weird that there are 2 different Elton John Captain Fantastic pinball machines on there.

Your dad is right. Elton John along with Bernie Taupin put out some really good stuff in the 1970's, but Crocodile Rock is a fairly horrible tune given that body of work.
