Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has begun shipping the first 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demons to dealers, the automaker says.

The limited-production, 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine delivers 840 horsepower. Dodge is touting the mega-muscle car as the industry’s first street-legal production drag car. The National Hot Rod Association has certified it as the world’s fastest quarter-mile production vehicle.

Ridiculous...ain't it? The car can't use it. Can it beat a Tesla grocery hauler?

I’m seriously considering a Tesla as a daily runner. With the tax breaks they’re getting down very reasonable. Cost of maintenance is my only concern.

They're highest on the "shit breaks" list. However, it's not the motors and battery. They've had software issue and mfg stuff...like the gull wing doors on the Model X. But that Model X mommy grocery hauler is faster than a Maserati. So, a few problems are ok in comparison. I think the resale value tells the story. You can't find one much below new list price.

Seriously, their model X grocery hauler soundly beats a new Corvette to 60 and 100...easily. The age of sports cars unassisted by electric motors is over. So, we might as well get used to it. A small, turbo V6 with electric motor boost on acceleration will blow away anything on the track and straight away.
