Kendal Wright -- Too small and apparently he's also slow. I hope we stay as far as possible from this kid. On the other hand, Michael Floyd looks too good to be true. I think he would make an instant impact.

I was surprised by that too, though I did see his 2nd run and it appeared that he didn't get a clean take off so that may have effected his time a little but at 5'10 with questionable speed he has Peter Warrick bust written all over him.

My personal favorites of those you listed. I'll add that I really like Tommy Streeter too.

A little disappointing with David Wilson's 4.49 40 time. Very impressed with Millers 40 time.

4.40 = good

4.49 (7th best) = disappointing

OK

How about we look at lower body power:

Broad jump = David Wilson 132.0", next best running back 123.0", Miller DNC
Vertical= David Wilson 41.0", next best running back 38.0", Miller 33.0

You would be the only "analyst" disappointed in anything that Wilson did today. Most people are saying he was the best running back in position drills and overall at the combine.....but, whatever.....

A few years ago a guy for ESPN wrote something on taking a combination of the 40 yard dash and then the difference in the short shuttle (I think it was the short shuttle) and then finding out what the true speed of the player would be at the most impacted time.

In otherwords, while RB's and WR's are constantly going for good 40 yard times, how many times do they really run like that? Maybe once or twice a game, if they are lucky.

The Shuttle, of course, is indicative of how well the player changes directly and how fluid he is and what kind of agility he can have when having to make those "football moves" at impactful moments.

He then had a formula for taking the difference between the two and showing how well a player would be with his speed and agility combined. It pointed out it was important for WR's who routinely have to make cuts and then get back up to speed, or stop and catch the ball, and then take off and run. For RB's, obviously, the impactful moment is when they get to the LOS and have to make a cut-back, and then burst through the hole or getting to the edge and then being able to make that turn and get in gear.

I wish I still had the article, but it was really well done, and it showed that the 40 yard dash (as most of us already know) is vastly over-rated in most cases, unless the player can bring that speed in conjunction with his ability to "shuffle" when needed and get back into that speed mode.

I'm not concerned about 9/100's of a second.
Stepping into a better area of field turf could make up that time, or starting at the right time. Try to stop a stop watch on the X.00 every time, it's not that easy.

That's my point.

.09 of a second is one thing.

A full thrre inches in vert and 9 inches in broad clear of the field says a ton about lower body strength. Also, Wilson was praised for his route running and hands and easily the consensus best back in position drills. Most are now saying he is a 3 down back, which is a big selling point. Miller and he are neck and neck in my opinion, but both are three down backs which is not something you can really say about any of the other guys in this draft.

Tommy Streeter's measurables are great, but the fact is, he still drops tons of balls and doesn't get good separation when he is on the field. The last 2 years at the U were supposed to be his 'breakout' year and while there was an occasional flash of talent, he hasn't really amounted to much.

And smh on the 'disappointment' of David Wilson. As 46 pointed out, many of the scouts and reporters at the combine were raving about his performance and most considered him to be the best RB there.

I'm sorry when all I heard was he could run a sub 4.3 40 and he was so fast, then he runs basically a 4.5 40 then I'm a little disappointed. Didnt say I was disappointed in anything else he did, did I dicks. I said his 40 time disappointed me because of all the "he is so fast" remarks I heard. I didn't say it hurt his stock or that he was a bad RB. I like Miller more, sue me, I'm not the only one.

Doesn't matter, we already signed our starting RB in FA, Aaron Brown. He will be the Bengals RB for the next 5+ years because according to everyone, that is the way Mike Brown operates, cheap and trying to strike gold with everyone elses trash. So, I imagine we are not even looking RB anymore with Scott, Leonard and Peerman on the roster. :)

On the SportsHoopla, the quickest way to generate a response is to say something negative about someone that plays for either Virginia Tech or Nebraska.

"Something negative" is fine. The shit Tubbs spews aren't facts and he tries to pass them off like they are.

Why would a Bengal fan want to deal in facts?

The facts are depressing.

-he doesn't have the best vision in the world and tries to cut things back way too much

-he has ball security issues

- he has only been a feature back for one season

- he doesn't like to go down and take what he can get which leaves him prone to strips and potential injury

-he doesn't trust the one cut and go mentality essential for the NFL

Negative is fine, all out bullshit gets called out.

Overall RB scores:

Lamar Miller 87.0
David Wilson 86.5

Disappointing.....

Both are projected first round picks now.

Thats disappointing because I was hoping the Bengals could grab him in the 2nd Round if they didn't go RB in the 1st.
