There's a chance Matt Cooke will be playing again in this year's playoffs...

Awesome to see former Portland Winterhawk star (and noted Spokane Chiefs killer) Nino Niederreiter get the GWG, and former Memorial Cup champion Chief Jared Spurgeon get the tying goal. I think I just found my team to root for the rest of the playoffs (cue 2nd round sweep).

Huge upset. I never gave the Wild a chance in this series and they pulled it off.

Didn't watch the game: Just caught the highlights over at nhl.com. Looks like it was another barn-burner. An awesome series throughout. - & I suspect that it's just the first of many that these two teams will be having in the next few seasons.

Congrats to Colorado on an all-around impressive season.

Huge upset. I never gave the Wild a chance in this series and they pulled it off.

Well, kneeing out one of the smoothest skating defencemen on the opponent CAN make a difference...

Mixed emotions. I like the Wild overall, but hate that one guy they have, and feel almost like they were rewarded for hurting a top guy. On the other hand, I felt that the Avs needed to get hockey god-smacked for that first goal.

And how about Dany Fucking Heatley? Ties it once, helps set up another tying goal and starts the OT winner. Maybe there's a heart in there afterall.

Probably not. But still... He had a great game. Gratz to the Wild.

Happy with the result. I like the avalanche, but I felt like Minny was getting screwed by calls all series - at least when I watched, which admittedly wasn't much.

Spurgeon reminds me of Kris Russell (probably about the same size, maybe Jared is a little bigger), both are great skaters and just really smart hockey players.

I've never had an issue with his heart/effort: Just with his pay/results ratio.

Umbergeritis?

I still maintain that I would take him, albeit for far less money, on the Jackets.

By the way, what in the hell is he giving birth to here?:
