Yes, that part was irrelevant since they were both left out. They were also jumped by FSU and OSU.

And right, dropping three spots in the last week after a win is real consistent.

FSU was 13-0 P5 conference champion and Ohio State was 12-1 P5 conference champion.

TCU was 11-1 P5 co-champion who also got bumped by 11-1 P5 co-champion who beat them.

How? At the end of the year UW will have a better SoS most likely. UW is punished for a weak OOC. A&M hasn't played our entire OOC yet.

love to see it get to that point where a Wa team jumps A&M the week that A&M wins big over TexSA.....

you certainly couldn't fault the team on the field, it would be the fault of the AD and hopefully that would begin to toughen up scheduling

We play 4 OOC, not gonna change that. The only thing is we play that OOC late, and that won't change.

I wouldn't really mind if we get bumped then or at the end of the year after Champ week. It's gonna happen if UW wins out.

Okay... A & M would be an 11-1 no champion in this scenario... what's your point?

Well, again, they've shown they put a lot of weight into conference championships and championship games. Also, they're saying right now that SoS is enough of a factor to justify the loss. With USC and WSU left, I don't think it's a stretch to say SoS balanced out a little and now undefeated is more important, at some point.

understood.. and ftr i hate the ccg.

but the only reason A&M would not be in a ccg is they had the misfortune of being in the same division as the preeminent team in cfb. certainly that argument has some weight: maybe not enough, but some

Exactly. Who would it be? Let's say A&M, because they ran the table since the loss to Alabama.

Nah, we would get jumped. no one cares about a loss to a non playoff team. Louisville would have a loss to a playoff team.

but the thing that could change is quality of ooc opponents

gotta beat the best to be the best. Do it in the regular season or the playoffs.

That year, the Committee was consistent. Now, that year looked different than this year, so consistency looks different. Now, you did bring up a good point on another post you quoted me about SOS balancing out. A&M has LSU still.

I'm just surprised they put A&M above Washington. That way, they stay consistent. But I also see why A&M is ranked above Washington.

Also they want churn. I think it would be boring if they hit on all 4 right out of the gate and it never changed.

Just curious, but why would you put a one loss team ahead of an undefeated team? I'm talking about a one loss SEC team and a undefeated PAC 12 team.

8-0 is better than 7-1 in my book. But the committee doesn't agree. Just trying to find the tipping point that would cause them to change their minds.
WSU is currently in the CFP top 25. If they keep winning up until the Apple Cup, they have a good chance of moving up in those rankings.

USC has looked very good ever since Darnold took over, and is currently pushing near Top 25 in the AP & Coaches poll as a result. Which suggests that they, too, have a chance at being top 25 CFP by the time that it's all said and done.

Colorado is currently #15 in the CFP top 25. If they win out and make it to the PAC CG, they will undoubtedly be ranked even higher.

If UW runs the table through the PAC CG game, they may end up beating three CFB top 25 teams along the way, giving them four such wins on the year. Plus a conference championship. Plus an undefeated season.

In my view, that would be too strong a resume to exclude from the playoffs, regardless of what any one-loss teams may do from here on out (with the possible exception of Ohio State).
