I get that..

My point is guys like this who's father is an alum and have a brother currently on the team usually walk on if not offered a scholly. They can work their tail off and eventually get on the field and get offered.

Maybe he doesn't feel he can get to that point? who knows

I don't know. Iowa's been hard after him for awhile and with a schollie from them, it'd be hard to walk on at Nebraska. Yes, I wish he would have, but I wish him luck there.

I can understand also that he may not have an extra 100k laying around the house, which makes the scholarship look like a pretty good deal

It would be hard to walk-on when there's a scholly available at a decent BCS school that's fairly close to home.

If you can't come up with the cash, whata ya gonna do?
