Good. A distraction for sure, but hopefully he'll straighten up and fly right.

He suspended him for the bowl game and then le the law take it's course. The guy was cleared of the charge, so what is the problem.

I would suspend him for being a kicker with arm tattoos.

Journell spent Dec 22 to Dec 29 in jail. Beamer had no choice but to suspend him from the Sugar Bowl. If VT would have let him pay there would have been some serious backlash over it.

Also, Journell was not cleared of the charge, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor traspassing.

I have no problem with Journell being reinstated to the team, but come on Beamer, at least suspend him from 1-2 games to start the season.

For some reason my recollection of him is as a terrible kicker. I guess 14/17 and 43/44 isn't terrible, but I still remember hating him so much...

I thought he was a pretty good kicker in general.

It's probably because his kicks aren't from distance. Nothing stands out when you're chipping in 25 yarders. Don't read that as me saying he sucks. It's just a fact no one really notices a kicker unless A) He's booming kicks from 45+ yards or B) He's being cussed out for missing easy kicks

He missed the Sugar Bowl, was suspended from the team for six months, and met his penalty.

Are you really going to pretend that Mike London would have given him more punishment? If Mike London needed a kicker, he'd be back the next game.

Well considering that when 3 UVa players got into a fight at JMU, the 2(Wallace and Price) that were actually charged with something were dismissed from the football team, and the other (Walcott's) charges were dismissed. So, yes, London would have given out a stiffer penalty.

Juniors Devin Wallace, Mike Price and Ausur Walcott all were charged with three counts of assault and battery by mob and burglary-entering a dwelling with the intent to commit an assault.

Wallace and Price pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery.
Walcott's charges were dismissed.
