I haven’t seen it yet. And I am looking forward to this. But I do think the movie title is the problem.

It is such an exciting name that we all go in expecting craziness and stupidity.

It seemed from the previews that it is trying too hard to be a respected movie.

The name is very SYFY channel. Like sharknado.

I understand trying to be more mainstream than sharknado. But still.

It’s definitely a Syfy channel movie.

Actually, I'd say the opposite.

From the trailers I expected a more off the walls, not taking it serious comedy type movie. Maybe like a high budget Sharknado. But despite having some moments of comedy and some little self aware winks, the movie does take itself somewhat seriously and is pretty straight forward. I ended up liking it but it was not what I expected based on the promotion from this movie at all. It's way more grounded than the marketing campaign leads on.
