I would say he want to win the game but not exactly show his hand. I'm interested to see how Korver does on defense when he's in. Going to be hard to hide him unless you put him on Green which seems like the smart move. Steph, Klay, and obviously KD would likely expose him

I don't think that was actually seriously considered. A reporter came up with the idea and started asking everyone on both sides what they would think if that happened. Then, the non-answers they gave somehow got used by ESPN to suggest that the Cavs were considering doing it.

If a reporter asks enough questions about a certain topic, its pretty easy to manufacture a story out of thin air.

yah.....there is a big difference between resting your guys at the end of a couple back to backs on the road vs. memphis in a game that means nothing

as opposed to a the marquee matchup on MLK day between the NBA's 2 best teams. lol.

just put him on Klay and chase Klay around screens all night...its not like Klay is a threat to put it on the floor and make plays.

and this to me is the biggest difference between the Warriors and Cavs

the Warriors rely on an ingenious system of sharing the ball, tons of ball movement etc.

the Cavs basically say- you cant cover kyrie and lebron 1 on 1- and everything is predicated off of that. Its all about them breaking down the defense and sending the ball out to stationary shooters.....that style WORKS really well in the playoffs by the way.

I think you can make some adjustments to counter the Warriors----- how do you adjust to Kyrie and LeBron being 2 of the top 5 iso players in the game? you just cant.

its one of the advantages the Cavs have. The Warriors CAN do something similar, especially with Durant- but its just not their style.

its why when people say the Cavs are a "jump shooting" team too- they are wrong...the Cavs shoot a TON of 3's, but its all predicated on Kyrie and Bron breaking down the defense and getting in the middle and being able to dominate any 1 on 1 matchup - even if its a very good defender like Thompson covering Kyrie.


its why people underate Kyrie- yes- he isnt a great defensive player by any stretch of the imagination- but great offense beats great defense most of the time- and as good as Klay is- he cant cover Kyrie. As good as Draymond is- he cant cover LeBron.

the Cavs dont need to guard individuals the same way the Warriors do since they go about it so differently. Its not about individual defensive matchups for the Cavs.

sure looks that way...LeBron and Kyrie with stupid fucking turnovers apiece in the first 2 minutes of the game- and then Kyrie has 2 stupid fouls.

Kyle Korver just made a 3 around a pick with a ridiculous release.....it was so freaking fast....

Cavs look disjointed and look like they lack energy. Golden State looks angry and focused.

Just not Cleveland's night so far. Score is not indicative as the Cavs are missing a lot of layups and open shots.

Have to give credit to Lue, he's getting creative on the high screens from what I saw in the 1st quarter.

Having said that, anyone that took game 1 between these two teams and say that Cleveland has the definitive advantage and Golden St. doesn't have a chance sounds beyond uneducated. It's going to be another cardiac 7-game series that could go either way.
