He's been extremely dominant in the regular season.
And most of his post-season starts. And the regular season is a larger sample size, and thus more predictive of true abilities. And 89 IP is 1/3 of a Nolan Ryan season, as cal can tell you.

Well, when you're the best pitcher on the planet Earth then people tend to hold you to a Godly standard.

He has had dominant stretches in the post season, but he's been nowhere near the pitcher that he is in the regular season. That hasn't been entirely his fault because he's been over-used due to the Dodgers bullpen weaknesses. He has had a tendency to hit a wall and then give up runs in bunches.

Serious question. One game. Win or go home. You can choose any active pitcher. Is he your guy? He wouldn't be mine.

Definitely would be Kershaw. He is willing to make every postseason start on short rest. I forgot, Bumgarner is the same, he's often the workhorse and thrown out there every 3 days for the Giants in the playoffs. :L

By his own standards Kershaw has been awful in the post season. By post season standards he has been poor in the post season.

Where are they going to get this pitching? The Dodgers are already at $182M before arbitration or resigning any of their FAs. They are "losing" Jansen, Hill and Turner.

Who knows what will be in the new CBA, so there is no telling what the lux limit will be this year, or how harsh the penalties will be for exceeding it.
They can't but the large sums of paying out was just a temporary thing until they had a farm state. Going good and my understanding is developing that takes about 5 years

A lot of that is giving up bloop hits/BABIP'd and crappy defense.

Not talking about Saturday but Kershaw has hate some serious issues with the bullpen allowing inherited runners to score on him in october. I need to find the stat i saw about that. Just ready it at the end of last week.

Does anyone on this board actually think that loss was because Kershaw choked?
