At the beginning of the season I figured he would probably be one and done on the contract:

Patriots safety Patrick Chung bet on himself this year, and it paid off. The veteran safety turned a one-year prove-it deal with the Patriots into a starting job, and now has a new contract to go with it.
According to ESPN, Chung signed a 3 year extension with the Patriots worth up to $8.2 million, with $3.4 million guaranteed.

I just read this too.

Good for Patrick. He has made a suprising number of decent plays this year and always seems to be right there at least near the ball when a play is made. I don't know but I think it is more a change in the secondary then specifically Patrick. Chung and McCourty make a much better safety team than Chung and Gregory or Chung and Ihedigbo. Not to mentionthe addition of Revis allows for the safeties and opposite corner much greater freedom/flexibility as well as more agressive play calling.

The New England Patriots signed running back Brandon Bolden to a two-year, $2.32 million contract extension, through 2016, locking up one of their core special teams players. The deal includes $300,000 in guaranteed money.

Bolden
Bolden, who made the team as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi in 2012, was scheduled for restricted free agency after this season.

While Bolden's primary responsibilities come on special teams, he has also chipped in at running back, totaling 28 carries for 89 yards and one touchdown this season. He also had two catches for eight yards, playing 6.8 percent of the offensive snaps.

Bolden's contract includes a $300,000 signing bonus. He will earn a base salary of $660,000 in 2015, with roster bonuses of up to $200,000 based on his presence on the 46-man roster on a per-week basis. In 2016, Bolden's base salary is $760,000, with roster bonuses of up to $350,000 based on his presence on the 46-man roster on a per-week basis.

He also has a $25,000 workout bonus in each season of the deal.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have signed starting safety Patrick Chung to a three-year contract extension through 2017, a deal that could be worth up to $8.2 million and includes $3.4 million in guarantees, according to a source.

Chung
Chung, a 2009 second-round draft choice of the Patriots who returned to the club after playing for the Eagles in 2013, was scheduled to be a free agent after this season.

As part of the extension, Chung received a $2.4 million signing bonus. He will earn base salaries of $1 million in 2015, $1.4 million in 2016 and $1.8 million in 2017.

The deal includes roster bonuses of up to $200,000 in each season (paid per week based on being on the 46-man game-day roster), with an additional $900,000 in incentives in 2016 and 2017.

On the incentives, Chung will earn $200,000 for playing at least 60 percent of the defensive snaps, $500,000 for playing at least 70 percent of the defensive snaps, or $900,000 for playing at least 80 percent of the defensive snaps each season.

Hey,.....He might come back down to earth vs. being a mercanery,.........$15-mill./yr.,....?

$15M per? I just don't see the Pats doing that......given BB's history. If we win the SB it certainly plays well for Revis. Especially if he's a big reason.

The Pats have a plan and dollar amount in mind for everyone. So, these two signings are not taking money out of Revis pocket.

I don't like that signing. Maybe special teams?

While Bolden was an underachiever at RB early this year, he has excelled on special teams. He still has potential as a RB and is a decent RB as backup, he is worth what we signed him for easily on special teams.....
