Chris Collinsworth hate? I don't get it.

On another thread I noticed there seems to be a lot of people who really don't like Collinsworth's commentary during broadcasts. I need to know why? I think he does a great job, he has great insight, lots of insider knowledge about the game and players, and he understands the plays and can explain in them in pretty good detail. So I'm confused why so many people think he sucks. Or is this one of those Nickelback things where people just hate on someone because its the cool thing to do?

Who is better than Collinsworth in your opinion? Who are the commentators you'd rank ahead of him? I'm just curious.

in a preseason game vs detroit, collinsworth said "i wouldnt mind seeing brady get hit like that" (after a QB ran out of the pocket and got decked). he quickly said "its preseason for me too, folks".

i dont mind him, but his brady hate is on another level.

he's not the worst but he's not my favorite either. his personality rubs me the wrong way sometimes. he's a little pretentious. In addition, sometimes he will spout off about something that either isn't accurate or that he's taking a lot of liberties with.

Given I record almost all the games I watch and skippy doody through between plays and such, I rarely have to listen to any of them.

Fair enough, but who do you actually like to listen too. I personally don't mind Collinsworth. And I was very surprised to find out how much I like Romo considering I never liked him as a player.

I would agree with some of the others. I don't hate him but he is annoying at times. One game he disagreed with an official's call on a fumble. He couldn't let it go and went on and on about it long after the play was done. Stuff like that

This... The never shuts the F up part is what gets to me too often.

That said, not the worst we've seen but still near the bottom.
