All clearly HOF worthy IMO.

Chipper Jones was pretty much my hero, along with Dale Earnhardt Sr when I was a kid. I went to my first ever Braves game in 1995 when I was 4 years old, and Chipper hit a homer as a rookie, and it's one of my earliest sports memories. @SlinkyRedfoot probably knows better than anyone what I think about Chipper Jones.

Chipper and Jeter were probably the last two greats that will spend their entire career with one team.

Also, he'll probably never get in, but I'm glad to see that Andruw got more than 5% of the vote to remain on the ballot.

4 players, the manager and the GM from the 95 WS team are now in the HOF. That's great and all, but would have been nice if it could have been better than 1-4 in the WS in the 90's.

A.Jones, like Rolen, was likely a victim of a crowded ballot this year and cap being at 10 players per ballot. It's a good bet that both will see their percentages increase in the upcoming years since not a lot of big names are joining the ballots (Rivera and Halladay next year, Jeter in 2020, no HOF worthy first balloters in 2021).

Is that a :yo: to the 95 team, or a :finger: to rest of the decade?

Chippier Jones was a lock and rightfully so.

Vlad Guerrero is in my hall of very good, but would not have received a vote from me if I was a BBWAA voter.

Jim Thome is a gawddamn softball player and was juiced out of is mind. He did parlay the "I'm too dumb to have cheated" all the way to a bronze bust, but this one is a fucking joke.

Trevor Hoffman averaged 60 innings pitched for 18 years and he gets into the HOF? Fucking pathetic :L

A bit of both. I was just a kid for all of them, but given the current state of the team, I'd love to to lose a World Series, or even be a first round playoff exit right about now.

The good news is it's pretty much a certainty that Edgar gets in next year...

yeah, I'm not very high on relievers being in the HOF. Hoffman was a great one, but he had 60+ innings in less than half of his seasons. I think what seperates Mo from Hoffman and any other reliever is that not only are his career stats superior (and he has like 200 more innings), but he also has a sub-1 ERA in 141 postseason innings. I don't think Hoffman was superior to Wagner and at least as far as peaks go, Foulke was arguably better IMO.

It's a shame he couldn't play regularly in Fenway and pad his stats like Jim Rice...I'm sure he'd get your homer vote in that scenario..

I do think Vlad's pretty borderline, but I'm fine with him making it. I think this sums up how I feel:

Is Vladimir Guerrero a Hall of Famer? | FanGraphs Baseball

Thome and Chipper are all-time greats offensively and Chipper's probably a top 5 3rd baseman. They seem like easy HOFers, especially the latter.

damn :L

You should stick to commenting on cricket. Fenway and the green monster robbed Jim Rice way more times than it gave him anything. Do you even watch baseball?

Agreed on Chipper. He was the reason I dabbled in switch hitting at one time. The reason I played 3rd. Hell I got Mizuno just because of Chipper, and I actually love Mizuno. I'll never forget a game when I was like 11 or 12, went into extras and Chipper hit a walk off homer. By far my favorite baseball player of all time and happy he's a first ballot HOFer. 97.2% of the vote too, hell of a player

Rice home OPS - .320 AVG, .920 OPS
Rice road OPS - .277 AVG, .789 OPS

It's a mere accident that he was nothing special away from Fenway, right homer? I'm sure in your fantasy world it's perfectly normal to have a road batting avg 40+ points lower than at home.

Are you retarded or do you just play a SPED on tHoop? Do you know anything about sports, baseball or even Fenway Park or are you just another faggot stat queen?

How many games at Fenway Park have you watched in your miserable life?
