All 14 people in that committee room should tell ND to join a damn conference live on TV. This will be alot easier.
Most Conferences wouldn't want Notre Dame and all of the strings that come attached with taking in Notre Dame.

B1G needs to get rid of the divisions. That game last night wasn’t between the two best teams 1 &2. It was between 1 and like 4…..

Baylor's resume is objectively better than Notre Dame's resume if that truly matters.

But, the Irish have the big name with a squeaky clean Norman Rockwell image of College Football, however phony.
Baylor on the other hand has a lot of off-season black marks that the committee does not wants to reward, even if a few years have passed.

The Committee is begging Michigan to win.
Regardless of your schedule, you still have to win the games and Baylor did not win two of them. Maybe Baylor and ND will meet in a bow. Right now, ND has the second "best loss" in the NCAA and depending how Cincy does it may be the "best loss". It is also true that every team with 1 loss , lost that game to a team with a loss.

Baylor going for it on 4th and 1 in their own territory was one of he dumbest calls I've ever seen. If Baylor ends up blowing this game, that has to be the play call that did them in.
I have to agree. Not making that first down and OSU's subsequent TD turned the game around. Baylor was lucky to pull out a win after taking, and losing, this unnecessary risk.

I have to agree. Not making that first down and OSU's subsequent TD turned the game around. Baylor was lucky to pull out a win after taking, and losing, this unnecessary risk.
First premise, two teams that are generally evenly matched (one being a 7 or less point favorite). In those games one play can have a profound effect on the rest of the game depending on how the play turns out.
In the case of Baylor, does OSU not score after a punt or just take longer to do so? It is not a given that they do or don't. What if Baylor makes the first down and then punts after 3 plays?
If the Michigan back who ran 76 yards for touchdown had gotten barely tripped up the line, is Iowa's defense hyped up and not depressed. Iowa's defense subtlety changes to prevent another run but becomes vulnerable in other areas.
It is why teams try to stretch the defense with a speedy receiver even if the first few passes are incomplete. (I have to go way back into memory banks to find the day I first became aware of this. In the 1986 Super Bowl the Bears played the Patriots. On the first or second play of the game Jim McMahon overthrew Willie Gault by inches when Gault blew by the defender by 5 or six yards. I said to a friend, the Bears just won the game. Why, because the Bears could get an 8-to-10-yard gain at any time they needed just by having Gault stop and come back to the ball. That is what happened)

The in-game dynamics are constantly changing. Most big comebacks occur because the trailing team takes risks that have a 90% chance of failing but they win the gamble. An example would be Florida State's comeback against ND only to lose in overtime. Alabama vs Auburn , although not as dramatic, is another example.
On the opposite end, there are games in which the final score does not indicate the closeness of the game. ND vs Wisconsin is a case in point. Wisconsin took similar chances as Florida State but failed, as the odds would normally indicate, and lost by a large score due to interceptions.

Notre Dame has been resistant one. B1g would take them in a heartbeat
No, they wouldn't. Both sides have expectations/conditions/demands and neither side is willing to give in to the other's, it's that simple, and The B1G won't be the one left on the outside looking in because of it, that will be Notre Dame. This year is showing us exactly that. Notre Dame can't even keep coaches now? And will be the only 1 loss team left out of the cfp. And they'll never gain an ounce of sympathy from anyone until they give up on some of their expectations/conditions/demands.
