Definitely need to use pritchard and some contracts with seconds in a consolidation trade

Dude is never going to play here get a dude like little from Phoenix
One good idea for the C's would be to ensure that Pritchard gets more minutes in the first half of the season.

For one thing, Holiday is no spring chicken anymore and there's no need to give him plus minutes in the regular season.

For another thing, it would be great to enhance PP's value ahead of any potential trade for a big.

lol

When we changed our ISP a while back...my son set it up and made the password 69 420 69

I laughed, but the wife made him change it.

Personal factoid: my employee number for the past nearly 30 years has been 69. No, I didn't set that myself, lol.

You really should have gotten a name tag entitled, "Employee 69". :D

It's now official... this is a HUGE season for the Boston Celtics.

Why? The Giants suck. Notre Dame just got knocked out of the CFP conversation.

First preseason game last night... it was pretty sloppy, and the Celtics didn't play very well overall... but a couple of positives I noticed:
  • Porzingis looked great. He moves really well for someone his size, and his shot is deadly. Additionally, his defense around the rim was noticeably impactful... his length forced several misses near the rim against whoever he was defending.
  • Payton Pritchard is a player in this league. His shooting is his calling card, but he's more than just an outside shooter. He's a bonafide PG that can help orchestrate an offense in the half court, and his plus range can help extend and break a set defense. Coach Mazzulla really needs to find a way to get him minutes this season.

Good win on the road to start the season. The Knicks caught fire from 3 but the C's (notably) won the game by getting to the foul line.

One key thing I noticed was that the Celtics started the game with a smaller line-up (Big Al was the odd man out)... and on defense they had Jrue Holiday guarding Julius Randle. Randle is one of the more bruising PF's in today's NBA... but Jrue did a fantastic job on him.

That type of defensive versatility is gonna be huge.

The downside was rebounding. The Knicks really hurt us on the offensive glass, and that kept them in striking distance all night.

It has been a great start to the season... 5-0.

But it is worth noting:
  • The combined record of the opponents we've faced thus far is 11-18
  • We've faced some teams when they were missing key guys... Indiana without Haliburton, Miami without Caleb Martin, the Nets without multiple starters
  • We haven't had any b2b's yet
Still... you can only play the team in front of you, and the Celtics are doing exactly what they are supposed to do: dominating lesser squads.

There's so much potential with this roster... the C's can win a lot of different ways... going big or small.

We're not just a 3 pt shooting team anymore. This version of Boston is getting to the basket and the FT line a lot more.

Let's keep it up.
