Can MY win the batting title?

Michael Young is HOT right now! :attention:

Batting average sitting at .336 after tonight's game. He just passed Kotchman who is one point down and is 16 points off of Adrian Gonzalez's average. He also is up to #4 on the RBI list. Can he get that average up to around .350? I sure as heck hope so.

I hope so too because with the man love for all the Boston players out there on the East Coast he has a very limited chance of getting the AL MVP award. Even though I have little doubt that everyone would agree that without his bat and fill in work at the infield positions (Especially at 3B) Texas would be absolutely sunk right now.

I think he'd have to stay hot and A. Gon would have to get cold. I really hope it happens because I'd like to see MY get his second Batting Title. It would continue to add to his hopeful HOF career.

I think his MVP chances are very slim because of his lack of home runs. Whoever had the "great" idea of trading MY needs to do this for a while. Maybe they are spinning it as they didn't want to trade Young but where trying to serve notice that he needed to play better. In any case, he has played wonderfully well this year.

Game is wrapping up tonight. MY had a great night. 3 for 4 with a sacrifice. Batting average is now .340. Compare that to AGon's whose BA slipped to .348. He has a shot at catching him.

I just noticed how close they were earlier also. I really hope he can catch him. MY needs to get into the MVP race also!

Really just missed having a home run. As it is that slugging % is back over .500. My two favorite stats to look at are Runs scored and Slugging %.

Gonzalez seems to be cooling off. His batting average is now .346.

I hope Gonzalez continues to have neck pain and also continues to slump right through our series. That and Ortiz being out would be great!

Young finished up the night 1 for 3 with his .342 batting average remaining static. Got that on base % up to .379. Can he get 21 points on that?

Adrian Gonzalez went 0-4 tonight lowering his batting average to .343. He must be in some sort of mini-slump. MY now within 1 point.

Want to go ahead and update this. MY is sitting at .336 while Adrian went white hot against the Rangers a few days ago and is now at a robust .345. Young is going to have to have a couple of 3 or 4 hit games to make up any ground.

I think the update on this is MY .336 and Gonzales .342. Close race with lots of games to go. Anybody's title to win.

It would be even sweeter after all the off season bs that went on. I think in a way Mike is making a statement to the ranger front office, letting them know that he still has plenty left in his tank. Deep down I don't believe that Daniels and Nolan thought he could still have a season like he's having.
