Definitely McCourty. We are way short on safeties. Our two starters from last year -- and I use that term loosely -- are gone. Now, we've got Phillip Thomas, Akeem Davis, and who knows whom else. Getting McCourty would be better not only because it fills a glaring hole, but also because we're not that thin at CB. To be sure, D-Hall's return is a question mark, but Breeland looks like a keeper and Amerson will play better than he did at the close of last year.
Maxwell.
He's proven he can handle being on an island, and he had a target on his back since folks didn't really want to throw Sherman's way. If we can improve our pass rush, there's no way he can't keep up that success.
I'm not really familiar with McCourty's game but unless he's an Earl Thomas type, I'm not sure how sucessful he'd be in our system. Is he going to be a guy that could help swat down a pass when a DB is beat, is he comfortable playing single high? Is he physical enough to deal with the TE's in our division. How will handle missing the playoffs for the first time in years?
