I agree Gasol will be around 16-18pts per game and 9-10 rebounds per game this year.

This. Plus Gasol's defense has become very porous. He doesn't like to play defense expecially in the paint. Maybe Thibs can light a fire under his butt. We shall see.

Disagree 100%. He plays good D. The problem last year was the system. Gasol will be back to normal in Thibs defense. Plus having Noah as a help Defender will help.

Have fun with Boozer Defense. Guy can't play in the 4th Q. Im not worried about Gasol. People also forget he will be playing PF now. Going up against PF's not centers anymore(well maybe 5-8 min a game at Center).

I hope you are right about Gasol purguy for the sake of the Bulls fans. Gasol defense has been declining for some time but sometimes a change in scenery and Thibs presence may revive him. I am interested to see what Bulls fans have been stating about Boozer. If all of you are correct, he'll be done in a year as a Laker for sure.

Now that Lance is gone I think the 3rd seed can be any of these following teams

Indy
Toronto
Miami
Washington
Charlotte

No way Gasol averages at least 20 points per game considering he has only done it 2 times and it was on the Grizzlies in 2005 and 2006. How long ago was that? Good signing but lets be realistic.

Kobe chucked like a madman (not just the amount he shot, but the number of times he ignored his teammates), and that is part of the reason why Gasol didn't score more (plus the low IQ of the other Lakers, last season).

Whereas the Bulls are completely unselfish when Rose is absent (and Rose will most likely be absent if history is anything to go by). Gasol will be relied on heavily to score. Noah understands the game, and will make sure Gasol gets the ball.

Gasol is a good team defender. He isn't going to be locking anyone down and he's not a guy who is going to prevent a "layup line" to the hoop on a team with a porous defense.

However, he is a very smart player and with the defense that the Bulls play, Pau should be just fine because they don't need him to lock anyone down or be a rim protector.

While it is true that the Bulls need a healthy Rose to be a championship contender, what is even more important, IMO is the play of McDermott and Mirotic. As great as it is to have big men who pass well, the Bulls offense still needs guys who can space the floor. Butler and Rose are not those guys. If McDermott and Mirotic are up to the task, this team can be great. If they are not, then the Bulls will still be one of the better teams in the East, but the will disappoint in the end.

Pau is still very solid offensively, but he's not a 20 point guy night in and night out. He'll be in the solid 17/9 territory.

The thing with Pau is that he is smart and he'll give the team what they need. If they need him to score 20+ to win a game, he'll provide that more often than not. In games where he isn't needed for scoring he'll get 12-14 points and won't complain about touches. He's also an excellent passer which should lead to better looks for his teammates.

He is a great pickup for the Bulls and could very well be the difference in them getting to the ECF or even the finals if he stays healthy.

You're too high on Washington

I like wash. That is my somewhat sleeper team. Toronto is another sleeper team. I think Pacers Window is closed. Losing Lance hurts. Miami will be the 4th or 5th seed. They will be tough in the playoffs.

I agree he isn't a lock down defender but he is still a lot better then Boozer who couldn't play in the 4th Q because he was so bad.

I agree that the Pacers window is closed in terms of winning the East but they can still make the 2nd round and be tough. Stuckey isn't a bad offensive player and they also added CJ Miles.

Both the Pacers and Heat windows are closing fast.

Washington will finish top 4 in the East.

Their guys are a year older, wiser and they didn't take a step back in Free Agency.

I think the Hornets will take a gigantic step forward too, while the Pacers and Nets fall towards the end of the top 8.

Bulls, if Rose is healthy, are my favorites.

Riley has something big planned for 2016.

The Heat window isn't closing. For the next 2 years they will be competitive 3-6 seed IMO but they're actually a really young team now for the most part and every contract except McBob/Bosh expires in 2 years or less. In 2016 I expect them to have a championship roster again
