I should be doing some projects, but I admit I'm watching.

Probably should have had a TD on the first possession, but Lloyd couldn't come up with the catch (got a little bit of a push from Talib right at the end). Also had a third down pass dropped (Stevie Johnson, I think).

That TD was too easy. No pass rush on Peyton.

If the 49ers can't get a consistent pass rush they defense will give up a ton of passing yards this season

They look like they are trying out different pieces so I wouldn't take much out of their issues right now. I'd expect their defense to be just fine by the time the season starts. At least their secondary anyway. Depends on their injuries and how long Navorro and Smith will be out.

Kaep out early in the 2nd with no scores? They really want to see those backups I guess? :noidea:

Most of the starting jobs are settled but there is a lot of young talent they want to get reps and an extended look at.

Also Gabbert has been terrible so there is no reason to risk Kap getting hurt.

I can see that, but I would still not want to pull my starters with no score on home turff, preseason game or not.

I'm sure we will see more of them in the next two so it was more of a minor head scratcher than a real indictment.

Quintion Dial and Tank Carradine are going to be steals from the 2013 NFL draft.

Some teams treat preseason different than others.

Under Harbaugh the 9ers have never looked all that great in preseason which is why I'm more interested more in the individual performances of the younger guys than how the starters are doing.

I mean the team was so bad in the 2011 preseason everyone was convinced we'd be in the Suck for Luck campaign.

I'm not that worried about how the 9'ers look in preseason because we won't face them at all until very late in the season anyway so it's going to be a much different team by then with players coming back and probably some new injuries.

I don't know why any team would want him as a backup QB:noidea:

Good question. 9'ers must feel pretty solid about Kaep's ability to stay healthy. If Gab is their best second choice any substantial injury to Kaep will kill their season.
