I am onto you... you just want to be in a position to take a TE early next year... (same as me... for no real reason... *cough* fant *cough*)

LOL.

I don't see "GREAT" tight ends in this draft, I see decent ones. I don't see us using an early pick on a TE. Sign a vet, see how Butt looks and if we need one next year there might be a bit more there.

I do like some value TE's like Deon Yelder, Mike Geisicki, Troy Fumagalli, Dallas Goedert, Chris Herndon.

Hayden Hurst will go early and we aren't going TE that high.

NOAH FANT!!!!

What do you guys think of Pettis? I think he would be worth a mid-round pick. He can provide some depth and options in the slot, and competition at PR. He is the kind of guy that doesn't have the measurables but he I think could be very productive and have a successful career.

I don't mind Pettis, don't love him. I expected him to step up big time at WR this year with the loss of John Ross for Washington. I don't know if the loss of injury to Chico McClatcher this year hurt or should have helped Pettis. Pettis was a terrific return man. I feel he isn't going to be a fit for us because I think even with his mental erros we're still very high on Isaiah McKenzie as a return man. Pettis is worth a flyer as a WR/return guy though. Just didn't step up at the most crucial times when Washington could have used him this year.

Side note- He is the son of former MLB OF Gary Pettis.

NC State DE Kentavious Street tore his ACL in a private workout
Wisconsin CB Nick Nelson tore his MCL in a private workout.

Nelson should be ready for the season but will miss off season stuff. Not good for two guys projected middle rounds.

This week's episode of the Huddle Up Draft Podcast we talk Su'a Cravens trade and role on this team, some past draft 'warts' on some top quarterbacks, and some of our overrated and underrated prospects this year.

Besides the link at the bottom of this page, the podcast is also up on Youtube, iTunes (podcasts) and Spreaker under "Huddle Up".

If you guys listen and enjoy the show, please head on over to iTunes or Spreaker, subscribe, and leave us a rating and a review. It helps the podcast go a long way and would really mean a lot to me.

If not, it's all good! 'Preciate all of you anyways!

Have a great weekend!

I really liked Nick Nelson. Maybe the Broncos can get him in the 5th and get some good value.

I really like Natrell Jamerson of Wisconsin. You scout this guy yet Carl? Wisconsin DB's always seem to be high on my radar.

Something tells me that Allen is the type of QB that Elway could fall in love with. He s so physically gifted and Elway could see some of him in Allen. Not sure what Gary will think of him, but there is talent there. We will see what happens in just 18 days.

All of Denver's first round picks since I started watching the draft when I was in second grade.

I remember 94 and 95 being tough years for me.. Felt like to get to 96 took forever to finally pick in the 1st round again.. 95 we didn't pick until round 4 and ended up trading down in the 4th and grabbing OT Jamie Brown. We did get Terrell Davis in that draft. :)

If we don't go QB or Chubb is gone. Do we just go Nelson ILB or CB with #1? If you were deciding between ILB and CB which way would be wiser for Denver cap wise for either position?

We'd go Nelson in this case. I can't see us taking any CB or ILB at #5.

If we stay at 5, don't go QB and Chubb is gone then it's between Nelson and Barkley.

We'd only go CB or ILB if we traded down with the pick, IMO...

Agree with this DC. If we were to trade down to 12 with Buffalo I would say Smith would be in play.

I think the worst scenario is if Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Chubb are the first 4 picks. Right now, I’m either very happy or more than ok with any of those four.

If I had to pick if the worst scenario presents itself, I’d probably select Barkley. I’d be ok with Nelson, but still struggle with a RB or OG at 5...

Looking at trade down partners, the five teams below us don’t have the huge need for a QB, so that takes us all the way to 11/12, Miami and Buffalo. If Buffalo really wanted Allen, I’d make them pay their #12, next year’s first rounder and maybe 4th this year, although I haven’t looked what they have left.

Maybe trade down a few and get Ward or Smith.
Maybe someone will come up for Barkley or Nelson

From what I know

if the Broncos don't go QB at 5, Chubb, Smith, and Nelson are the ones they are looking at
