The Royals hitters have been hit 11 times in 11 games. Not to mention Lawrie, who's a punk, always has been. Yost was right on the money when he argued that the Royals should not have been warned. It's a shit rule (and fairly new) that let's one guy throw a punch and the other guy can't do squat about it.

Pretty crappy slide but within the rules (able to touch the bag)... Doesn't make it right though.

I was LMAO at all the Royals managers, coaches getting tossed and Jim Joyce about to scrap with Wakamatsu. :pound:

There was nothing wrong with what Brett Lawrie did. It was within the rules and the way the game is played. If we don't want hard slides we should eliminate them. But he simply went in hard and tried to break up and double play and make it harder for Escobar to make the catch. He shouldn't have to apologize for playing baseball and playing hard. He apologized because he didn't intend to hurt him, that doesn't mean he's sorry for the slide.

Having a 100 mph fastball thrown at your head is 100x worse than a takeout slide at second base. The Royals are trying to hurt Lawrie and not trying to play baseball. Lawrie never intended to hurt anyone.

[/QUOTE]
This wasn't a big deal, wasn't even a little deal, in the old days. Why is it so terrible now? So terrible that teams are not throwing at him once, but throwing at him repeatedly and trying to injure him? His slide was completely within the rules and a part of baseball

the one sure thing, they need to fine any players that come into the field from the bullpen, like hockey. They keep wanting to save time at baseball games, there is the first step.

This seems like an overreaction... That slide is 100% legal AND is done all the time.

I would be very surprised if there wasn't any suspensions coming for the Royals.

It was at his shoulders, close enough.

Considering how childish they acted the last 2 days, I would agree

So the hard slide occurred on Friday and they threw at him on Saturday after that it should have been over. But to do it again on Sunday, I think it's time to grow the fuck up.

Cain got hit in the lower leg so they thought it was done on purpose so they decided to throw at Lawry AGAIN for whatever reason.

Ventura did what he was suppose to do. Herrera should be suspended though, he needs to learn not to throw at the same guy next time, lol.

Royals felt the Cain HBP ( a guy with a history of leg injuries) was intentional. After 14 or so HBP's, and the last two nights, that probably really pissed them off. They have to stick up for themselves at some point... Tired of it- look up the tweets on it. It's usually the same guys getting hit too- Moustakas, Cain, and Gordon have all been hit 2-3+ times. Done with pleasantries. What Herrera did was bush league, but I am really not in the mood to deal with the A's BS either if I am Ned Yost. It was over after the Lawrie schtick, and the A's brought it back to life in my opinion with Cain getting hit. Herrera's hotheadedness gave it even more life. Considering it was Reddick implying there would be retaliation for Lawrie today, I am not sure how he isn't the guy getting the beanball... even though Lawrie did taunt the crowd today...
