Ben restructured today, reducing his cap hit from 16 million to just 8 million. They are now right at the cap and after they cut Hines and maybe Hampton, they'll be fine.

Why can't Baby Hawk be the #2 wide out? We got AJ for the deep threat and Shipley as the slot, why not have a guy who catches everything thrown at him as the #2 possession receiver...or am I missing something? I just see wide out being a need for depth. We got 3 good receivers and a couple good TEs, we don't need no stinking big name.

he flourishes as a slot receiver, so he'd be in competition with Shipley actually. The Bengals would start Caldwell over Hawk.

yes, I know, doesn't make much since to me either.

why don't we take this offseason and really look at our players, including the ones on our practice squad, and see if we already don't have a diamond in the rough. Since he is on the practice squad, why not give Armon Binns some reps and time during the exhibition season, and see if he can't be our nr 2 receiver.

A lot of good NFL players started on the practice squad, just sayin..

injuries happen, so you need depth. That's why Armon Binns is there, he'll have a chance to shine in the camps and preseason games the same as everyone else. But that's no reason not to look at the free agent pool to replace the TJ roll "up in smoke" gave us last season.

Hawkins is a slot receiver, through and through.

This team would be instantly better with a solid, veteran 2nd receiver. It would give Dalton an experienced option on third downs and in the redzone.

Our biggest receiving need, imho, is a physical guy who can make the tough catches, a TJ Houshmandzadeh type who they can go to with confidence on third down, a guy who runs good routes and knows when to sit down in the soft spot of zone defenses. We already have the explosive burner in AJ, and two prototypical slot guys in Shipley and Baby Hawk.

we may possibly draft Floyd or another wr so we don't have to put up with a veteran ego or someone who will confidently blast the joke of an organization we have.

we have a star receiver already, he's AJ Green and he's one of the best in the league.

There is some guy sitting on his couch right now that is out of football that we will find, call, and offer a mega million dollar contract to. He will play for 4 hours of practice and then retire.

Welcome to the next year of hell.

I saw on twitter the other day that a lot of the coaches were pushing Marvin to give Binns some PT at the end of the year. I guess he had impressed those on the offensive side of the ball enough to warrant a look.

Of course, that just means that Marvin will do all he can to not give him a chance in hell.
