I have grown real tired of this subject. It is unfortunate that for the rest of our lives this is what we will associate with our era in baseball.

I hear ya. I just can't believe that with all the changes and new rules and regulations in place that players are still trying to find ways to get around it and continue using.

There should be something that has the players pay the organizations back a percentage of the money they made if they test positive for anything.

Maybe have that player purchase tickets like 5,000-10,000 per game and give them away for free in a lottery system.

how about his excuse? Millions of dollars in salary and he and his legal team think it is best to go to some shady drug pusher posing as an illegal doctor to be their expert witness on chain of possession on a drug sample. Riiiiggghhhtt.....

loopholes the first time, this time he may still have a viable excuse. However, is it not true that in this last labor agreement the commissioner was given the ability to impose a 50 game ban on any player regardless of the result of a test? I know that sounds implausible, but I swear I heard them talking about that on the radio. So the commiss could just sweep in and pop everyone in the ledger, regardless of reason, with a 50 game ban?

All I know is that this has to burn MLB being that Braun was the first ever to win an appeal.

The fact that his name is now coming up in this stuff again has to be pissing them off something fierce.

I feel that it still needs to be stricter. Perhaps a year ban for a 1st time offense. Lifetime ban for a 2nd.

This year they will be able to test for HGH. I know we have said it before, but it will be interesting to see how many people are busted (betting a low number) and how many people have big dropoff years (thinking a good number).

Ironically, with all the heat on the hitters, the pitchers had themselves some great games last year. Coincidence?

I don't think it was. And this year should be even better for pitchers. Last year I think players were still using HGH during the year. Won't happen this year. I suspect a lot of nagging injuries and the hitting stats will be noticeably lower than last year.

Which will sadly bring the ratings down.

People hate cheaters, but an equal number can look past that, as long as the game is entertaining to watch. I.E. Sosa & McGwire...

Yeah, I know if the offense is down then ratings will suffer. That will take a while though. I know casual fans (like my wife) get REAL bored in low scoring games. I think those are more fun, because one swing can change the lead. But I get the "boring" aspect, especially when sitting in 100+ weather in Texas.

LOL, yeah. Like you, I too, think low scoring games can be fun (for the same reasons). Even a 0-0 game could be entertaining.
