Red Sox offense could do a lot better in 2015. Agree on your point though.

Agreed, although I was kind of thinking about it from the view that if Hamels went to Boston, he wouldn't be facing them.

Oh. Then absolutely.

Red Sox are reported to be including Alex Wilson and a low level minor leaguer in the deal. Hard to believe Wilson's 28 already. Always liked him and I could see him being a nice bullpen arm.

why he chose Cubs:suds:

ayson Stark of ESPN.com reports that Jon Lester's signing bonus with the Cubs is worth $30 million.
Wowza. The bonus will be paid out over the life of his six-year, $155 million contract. Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports hears that $20 million will be paid up front while the remaining $10 million will be more spread out. The deal carries a full no-trade clause. The seventh year option is worth $25 million and carries a $10 million buyout. It will vest if he reaches 200 innings in 2020 or 400 total innings between 2019-20

Im just happy Boston is making some bad moves. None of those pitchers are great and all have struggled in their careers and all has a 1-2 good seasons.

Just curious... How much did they sign these guys for? And/or how much are they paying them?

Masty gets 9.5 mil for 1 yr
miley is 1st year arb made 523,000 last year
porcello in last year of arb made 8.5 mil last year

Sox need an ace but doubt they pay max so best chance is hamels:suds:

Sorry... My reply was a rhetorical question for that idiotic post. The only 'signed' one of the three, to a cheap one year contract... They traded for the other two and as you pointed out, are still pre-free agency and very cheap...

sigh.... stupid people....

Still over paid for 2 of the 3. All 3 are #3-#5 in a rotation and in a good rotation they are a 4 or 5. They still don't have a #1 or #2. Plus they lost a power hitter.
