Final on their last game this season, in the championship game of the Gainesville Florida NCAA regional, ended in a 5-0 loss to # 5 ranked Florida.
But Boise State is proud of their 2019 Softball team. First they lost their head coach (Cindy Ball) to the University of Central Florida right after the 2018 season ended - after Ball coached Boise State to their first ever NCAA tournament.
But after hiring Maggie Livieri to replace Ball the 2019 Boise State softball team started out this season by winning 18 of their first 20 games against non-conference opponents including a 17 game winning streak.
And despite a mediocre record against their Mountain West Conference opponents of only 12-12 the Broncos were selected as an At Large team to go to the 2019 NCAA tournament. Despite the fact that the 2019 Boise State softball team finished the season 5th in the MWC standings. The reason Boise State was selected for the NCAA tournament was due, almost certainly, because of their # 40 ranking in the R.P.I. (thanks to their early season success against non-conference opponents).
Then after making it to the NCAA tournament for the 2nd consecutive season the Broncos dominated Stanford of the PAC 12 winning 9-1 and in the process the Broncos won their first ever game at the NCAA tournament (the Broncos went 0-2 in 2018).
After dominating Stanford the Broncos got dominated themselves in an 8-0 five inning loss to # 5 ranked Florida. Then the Broncos beat Stanford a 2nd time (2-0) to advance to the Championship of the NCAA Gainesville tournament. But as mentioned above the Broncos lost again to # 5 ranked Florida 5-0 to end their 2019 season.
While Boise State is losing some very valuable Seniors this year, i.e., Shortstop Rebekah Cervantes, Center Fielder Kora Wade, Catcher/Designated Player Morgan Lamb and Pitcher Rainey Ryreson, Boise State will be returning a solid base for the 2020 season.
Here's how I see the 2020 Boise State softball team lineup at this point in time:
NON-PITCHERS
Catcher - Serena Hutchingson - Sophomore - Started 50 of 52 games this season primarily at Catcher
First Base - Alison Seng - Junior - Started all 52 games this season at First Base

Shortstop - Karlee Johnson - Senior - Started 51 of 52 games this season - primarily at 2nd Base
Third Base - Bradie Filmore - Senior - Started all 52 games at 3rd base
Left Field - Jessica McKay - Senior - Started all 52 games in Left Field
Center Field - India Kelly - Sophomore - Probable replacement for Kora Wade in Center Field
