People complain about Abreu, Gaudin, Cedeno, etc. then aren't upset about 7.1 mil to Kendrick, 26 mil to Ruiz, and 16 million to Byrd.

Kendrick should of been given a 1 Mil contract, or let walk.

Ruiz should have been had for a smaller amount if not they should have let him walk.

We re-signed J Mayberry as well... a guy who is the epitome of mediocrity and whats wrong with this franchise.

This season will be very brutal (unless there is a miracle ) This will also deter me from spending my money on going to any games, hell this will be the 2nd year then.

Yeah, in all seriousness, it's not a terrible move. But I'd think the Phillies have at least 4 or 5 outfielders in their farm system that could outproduce Abreu at this point. He batted .242/.350/.342 in 2012.

Coming off the bench that .350 obp would look pretty good. If the Phils actually have any players that sitting in the minors that could do better than that they should stay in the minors until they can play every day in the majors. In other words, if Abreu ends up taking over the "Laynce Nix" role, he isn't getting that many ABs anyway.

I don't know about WAR or WARP, but the Phils should lead the league in AARP.
