but I think my point has been made. POR is not the contender we are making them out to be. Their run is lasting far longer than the 76ers's did but in the end, it won't be much different.
The Sixers? What on earth are you talking about? Portland is a top 4 team in the West. The Sixers are playing for a top draft pick

If you're saying that Portland won't win the championship, then that is a safe opinion. That doesn't mean that they are like the Sixers

San Antonio sucks versus the Blazers the last few years.

Even last year, they got handled badly by the lottery level Blazers team.
I think they lost by 30 or 40 points to them last year.

Jumpshooting teams like the Blazers and Knicks sort of give them fits.
They handle lowpost teams and slashing team a lot better.

I would not read a darn thing into it IF was other western teams.

The Spurs might have issues with Portland, but that doesn't mean the other western teams need concern themselves with SA's matchup problems.

Plus, the SPurs were missing 40% of their starting lineup. I don't know if they win, but that certainly hurts their depth.

Do you remember when the 76ers were 3-0 and beat MIA and CHI and every one was going nuts about how amazing they were playing?

My point is that come Finals time POR and PHI are both going to be watching it from their couches.

I will be surprised if POR finishes with a top 3 seed.

Are the spurs not really good? They were at 100% and so was OKC in the first game. It's amazing how people are consistent trying to find reasons to discredit Portland record and their legit wins over some of the best teams.

You're comparing a team who got off to a 3-0 start which means nothing in the nba to a team that's going to be 31-10 or 32-9 at the halfway mark......you sound ridiculous.

Unless Portland suffer a major injury they will finish with a top 3 seed. Barring any major.injuries it will be them, okc, and san antonio as the top 3 seeds. GSW have 7 more losses than Portland and that's hard to make up.

We get it.....you hate Portland.

If Portland gets a 1 seed and play LAC or Hou in the 2nd round, I love their chances of making it to the WCF

Excluding SAS, they're 1-0 vs Indy, 0-1 vs MIA, 2-0 vs OKC, 1-1 VS Houston, and 1-0 VS the Clippers (they have yet to play GSW. So excluding their 2-0 record against the team tied for the 2nd best record in the league, they're 5-2 against the other 5 top teams in the league. People are not just bragging about Portland just because of 2 wins against the Spurs.....They have consistently beaten the other top teams in the league

They beat GSW on the road already.

You're right....I totally missed it last night when I was looking at their results this yr. However I wouldn't take much out of that win because Iggy was out and GSW is a different team without Iggy

GS is playing at a different level right now than that game early.

It is going to be really difficult for Portland to beat them. Game coming up soon between the two.

lol @ some of yall discounting Portland starting 2-0 on the Texas Triangle +OKC 4 game roadie.

You all are just going to have to accept and deal with it.

Portland is the best in the West right now.

@BK I love POR, they are awesome and playing great right now. Let's see where they are come April though.

@WhiteMamba I agree POR has played some great basketball so far. Even in their last 12 games they slipped and went 8-4, very impressive.

They still don't play any defense and rely primarily on jumpshots.

It can get you 53-57 regular season wins if you execute it properly.....
But it is a recipe for complete and utter postseason failure.

What made Golden State a lot better lately is their ability to play defense and go to a low post game.

Portland simply does not have it.

Aldridge is a jumpshooter who like to camp out 9-12 feet away....and is sometimes allergic to defense.

Admittedly those types of teams give my Spurs fits, but you cannot go deep on a playoff run with that style.

OKC is a matchup nightmare for them as well. Most likely, they are going to run into one of those 2 teams in the playoffs at some point.

Things you need for a CHAMPIONSHIP run:

1) transcendent superstar wing player (SG or SF) who can score/handle the ball/get to the line
2) Dominant Low post player who can take over when jumpers don't fall
3) smothering team defense

No team has won a title without at least ONE of the three things. Most title teams have 2 or 3.

Portland has none of the ingredients.

I really like them, but they just don't have anything resembling a championship formula.
