I vote Russell because it's unprecedented in the history of the NFL for a HOF QB to be traded while still in the prime of his career. Griffey is probably a bigger name in his sport, but trades like that are much more common in MLB.

QBs can play into late 30s but that doesn't change that the prime years are mid 20s for all athletes.

Griffey was practically the face of MLB when he was traded, theres no comparison.

Have to agree with this... Griffey gets my vote as well... He basically built our new stadium...

Interesting stat. Mariners drafted Langston. Traded Langston for Johnson. Traded Johnson for Garcia. Drafting Langston netted the Mariners 280 over 21 seasons (1984-2004).

The trade getting Marshawn Lynch helped jump start the running game with the LOB to 2 SB app and 1 SB victory.

I am expecting to see the return of the 3rd down draw and runs on 1st and 2nd downs 90% of the time. Sucks that we had a QB that could take us into this decade of football and they want to take it back to the 70's early 80's style game again.

With with a rookie QB maybe until he gets acclimated to the NFL. That is what we say year one of RW and over time they became more balanced and tilted to passing over running.

I’m telling you guys, give up a 7th for Minshew and the Seahawks win the NFC West next year.

One of the bigger trades in NFL history. It's nearly unheard of to trade a HOF QB still in prime years away. Montana was coming off a missed season (injury), was going to be 37, but they also had Steve Young in his early 30s and saw him perform just fine for a whole season (14-2 record and lost the conference championship to a stacked Boys team). If Seattle had the #1 overall and it was next years QB class, maybe I could see it.... but Drew Lock? Or are they really going to take Willis at 9? I just don't follow. Either way that's a complete uncertainty (unlike Young).

This one was rather baffling. Obviously Wilson did not want to be here and if that's the case he was not seeing eye to eye with Carroll.... IMO Carroll should've been let go. Now we're expecting a 71 year old defensive minded coach to rebuild a roster?

Diggs signing was OKAY, Dissly was stupid as fuck, Woods was decent, and Jones was good... but the free agency so far hasn't been exactly overall great. And they let Reed walk who had a VERY good season.

With all the draft capitol we received from the Wilson trade it's now time to build up this roster starting with OT and CB. There are still a few guys out there who might come on the cheap in both positions. The trick is to find the right scheme fits. Even though some of the moves by PC and JS have been questionable at best I still have a certain degree of trust in them.

Drew Lock should be the starter to get us close to the top of the 2023 draft.

Not the greatest trades in Seattle history but both are probably in the top 10:
Phelps for Buhner
Bragg for Moyer

It's nice to rip off those big spenders in the AL East.

I'm about 90% sure Lock will be the starter Week 1 unless we bring in a veteran presence
Some of those vet QBs are going off the board so hopefully Lock starts and the FO doesn't do something dumb like drafting a QB.
