I think I have recovered sufficiently from the movie polls we ran a while ago, so it is time to do TV shows now. I plan on starting with the nomination threads probably next Monday.
The rules will basically be the same as with the movies, but with a few minor tweaks...
1) nomination threads will stay open for approx 3 days.
2) poll threads will be open for 3 days
3) anyone can nominate up to 5 shows per letter in the nominations
4) any show that starts with a number will be in the number category, no matter if it is spelled or not (Seventh Heaven, 12 Monkeys)
5) "The", "A", "An" etc are not considered the first word of a title. This is rather obvious, I think, but it needs to be stated.
6) shows that have gerational reboots are stand alone (Star Trek), but shows that are continuations are considered a single show (Dr Who, Heroes, X-Files). This may need some discussion to iron out.
7) Mini-series are not included (Pacific, Band of Brothers, Roots).
8) I wil list recommendations in the nomination threads, but feel free to offer your own ideas.
9) only shows from the U.S., Canada and the UK are eligible (sorry, no telenovelas).
These rules are all open for discussion before we start, but please remember, this is a lot of work and is intended to be fun. Don't be a dick!
